Ok, so ive never used a AEG before, but ive heard there good and better then springers. Im looking to purchase one but because im new i dont want to spend like $300 on a gun. So i need a cheaper but good sniper rifle gun for a AEG beginner. Anyone have any suggestions?

Really If your looking into a "Sniper" ... your going to have to spend quite a bit of cash to get an AEG out-performing other AEG's. But however, a good base for an AEG sniping unit that isn't that expensive would probably some varient of the M16 ... due to it's long barrel and modification abilities. Overall, your better to look at what you like that's under $300, and invest in that.

The only other Sniper AEG i can think of that would be good for around that price is the G3-SG1

Shifter,
1) I would suggest you follow knief's link. Very informative.
2) Don't buy a sniper rifle right off the get-go. First off, it's pretty expensive to get a decent rifle, secondly, they're a pain in the ass, and thirdly, just don't ;p
When you get more into the sport, then start looking at a sniper rifle setup. For now, I'd suggest browsing some retailer sites (linkbar at left is your friend), seeing what's out there, then buy whatever is aesthetically and ergonomically pleasing to you. There's not a whole lot of variance in the actual guns, if you stay in the same brand (yes, a TM works differently than a CA, and they both work differently than an ICS)
As to suggestions towards guns that would run you sub-300.. for a full setup, that's rather un-likely. Just the gun, typically, will run you right around 200+. Then you look at getting a battery/charger, you're spending an extra 30+, couple mags, 30ish each, BBs, etc...
I'd suggest watching the commerce section. You can probably find a decent deal there for a gun, and normally you can get a couple mags and a battery with them. BUT, know that you're getting a used gun before buying from there!

trust me sniper rifles are REAL pain, usually to others though i cant really say anything that hasnt been said yet, so listen to knief, he knows what he is talking about, really you can turn just about any AEG into a sniper rifle (ok maybe not an mp5k) with enough upgrades and aftermarket parts, so basically get a gun you like and if you have the money and time transform it to a longe range gun

If you want it my friend is selling his G3 SG1 for $200 with a 500 round hicap. Its not on commerce because he doesn't really play. Maybe I did post it. Can't remember anyways if you want it let me know and you can have it. Figure out the pick up or mail arrangments.

I shopped around for a sniper while for a little. If you want a good setup you're likely to spend at least $500 (for an AEG setup, I think I'm the product of two siblings sleeping together.. doy! about springers). If you buy anything besides a mp5k or a famas you can upgrade it into a sniper (k if you buy a silencer and extend the barrel) for a couple hundred bucks.
some more good advice, get something you like. you'll regret it if you dont. Any semi long barrel rifle or sub machiene gun can be snipered out, get something you like.

Well if aeg is the way u want to go. I kno ull have to buy the gun, and pay for upgrades and all that. You could get the m1 carbine tho! It shoots an 8mm bb i think that flag cronoed it at like 380fps or so and that was using top gas, Imagine red gas.
It shoots o about 70 feet accuratly and the kid who has one is gonna be getting a scope and mount for it and were gonna see how tight of a grouping we can actually get, If u would like to kno more, pm me

and it's bolt action, limited to 15 rounds in a mag.
supressive fire is the key. anyone who tells you otherwise is full of shit.
Hell.. Frostee...a dedicated sniper.. was firing about a round every 2 seconds at one point....

Being a sniper is quite hard, especially in areas with heavy concentrationso of foliage. (adv. english, no?) anyways, my friend has an SG1 with a scope, and I've heard he goes full-auto sniping, and that thing fires FAST. They're expensive, though. You could just get an m16/variant and put a scope on it. That's what I'm going to do. Although I don't know how good an M16VN with a scope is going to look. Oh well
