Its alittle more fun to lay down with a 45" gun, lookin threw a scope, with a bipod holding up your gun. Sitting in a gulie suit, picking people off from a distance.
From what i heard from fourms, stay far away from super 9's. What i hear from website reviews is its an ok gun. I own one, ive upgraded it, ive had it for 4 months, i havent had many problems with it. come to think of it the bolt lock once and that was it.
But most would suggest a APS for all your sniping needs.

Well, I suppose this thread is as good as any to making my posting comeback, as I have been out of state or up north the past 4 weeks or so. Well, if your seriously interested in sniping you have several options. You could go with the approach of upgrading a Full-Auto weapon to sniping FPS, but if you did this it would involve a lot of work, including removing the weapon's full auto capability. Another is of course to go with a Sniper Rifle... but be warned, just because you buy a sniper rifle doesn't mean it's gonna do any better than an AEG out of the box. You can ask any sniper on these forums and they'll tell you the same thing. Frostee has a very nice setup with his APS2, which I believe was shooting 512-515 at WF. If you do get a Sniper Rifle, most go the route of buying a gas cylinder for it to replace the spring, as this will give you a major power boost, but your bolt will still pull easily, whereas if you upgraded spring-wise, the bolt pull would become harder the more you increased the spring power. The most common airsoft sniper rifle out there is probably the APS2. However, other good starting rifles are M24's and M40's if you have the cash (I own an M40). If your budget is lower and you'd just like to see if sniping is for you, then go ahead and tryout a Super-9 and fix er' up abit, see what you come out with. If you have more questions feel free to PM me or IM me! P.S. Stratus, were you the guy at WF with the Super-9 that I talked to when we walked back from the last Attack/Defend game? P.P.S. Yes, sniping has it's high points such as taking a shot from 85yards in your "Ghillie" and getting a hit square in the goggles of your target. But you also have to put up with the downsides of it... bugs, waiting possibly hours for a good shot, etc. - Grunt22

where can you find info on a super 9?

by searching on this forum and others.
On a gun like the super 9, don't trust retailer stats and reviews. That gun's performance is often overstated so they can make their sales. Look for independent reviews by people who know what they're talking about.
Please don't ask unrelated questions on a thread. This thread had very little to do with the super 9 other than one guy owning one. There are plenty of threads dedicated to the super 9 that you could have asked this question on (or just read those threads).

it depends on I'm too lazy to spell a full word out. Please mock me. budget and expirience level, if I'm too lazy to spell a full word out. Please mock me. new and have a low budget, get a super 9 pro, if u got the cash for it, get a psg-1 AEG, that thing kicks butt.

Well but keep in mind as was stated by Grunt the PSG1 is basically a stock AEG that only has semi, so unless your ready to dump cash into upgrades, it's not worth worrying about. I would say get a stock AEG then learn what role you want to play. You can always sell it later if you want to become a sniper. But for most a stock AEG will be plenty.

luke makes a good point about learning what role you want to play. Before you get into sniping in airsoft, you need to look at exactly what kinds of games you're likely to play. Sniping is cool and all, but in a lot of scenarios and on a lot of fields, it's just not practical. You don't want to be toting that brand-spanking new, super upgraded APS2 into a dynamic entry CQB situation (mainly because you'll always be shooting at distances that are under your engagement limit). Similarly, small fields or fields with little or no cover (pretty much anywhere the opposition never really loses sight of you) take most of the point out of sniping.
I love to snipe. I'm a sneaky bastard, I'm patient, and I crawl like a madman (just ask any of the FLAG folks I routinely skirmish with). But for my entry into this game, I got an AEG first. Why? Because I can use it on any field and in virtually any scenario. I'm not limited by engagement distances or fire modes.
My advice to anyone considering getting into airsoft sniping is this: get your sniper kit (rifle, ghillie suit, etc) in addition to a regular AEG and tactical kit. Yes, it's more expensive, but you'll never be sitting a game out because your gun is too good or because the scenario isn't really set up for sniping.
