Can someone give me a rundown on the MI laws about barrel orange, whether or not you guys keep it on, and how you would go about restoring the gun back to "collectors" condition if you wanted? I looked through a bunch of MI documents about it, and can't make anything out through the legalese, and most pics I see of people playing airsoft are with restored guns.

It's ben a while since we had this discussion but I believe orange is only required when shipping and selling the guns, but not for owning them. However, that being said, if anyone of authority sees your guns when they're not supposed to (Which is everytime they see it when it's not in your house), they're probably not gonna care if there's orange on the tip. After all, criminals have been known to paint real guns in toy colors. If you want to take the orange off the gun, rubbing alcohol and some elbow grease should ostly do it for you. Sometimes, some companies but a base of primer under the orange and then you're gonna have to resort to sandpaper and grinding.

some localities require barrel orange on all replica/toy guns... Warren is one of them.

Depends who you buy it from, Marui doesn’t paint the orange on, the Hk distributor (like for instance UN company) does. I personally like UN Company, their orange paint comes right off with a finer nail and their trades are covered by liquid electrical tape, comes right off.

Bigmack, where did you find out that info about Warren? I've been checking around through documnets about the laws Macomb Township has, but I can't find anything solid.

I know Shelby Twp. (right next to Macomb) has laws against the discharge of any firearm, whether it be a 12ga. shotgun or a nerf gun. they might not prosecute on airsoft, since they always let bb guns slide, but i dont know

Ares, that would be Operation Imediate response (See events, 1-2 pages back)
...and the 10 or so Warren cops coming at us with Shotguns and berettas.

Ironically those were probably some of the most fun games I've ever played, and the two other SPAZ guys with me would probably agree. Go Warren! ;D

Yep that event was loaded with excitement and realism. If it is illegal to have a gun without a red tip then how did we get our guns back? I think the only person with red on their barrel was Tempest.

Wow...Someting tells me that would just ruin your evening ! Did the PD end up legalizing your guns when they gave them back, or give orders or something? That sounds like a little bit too much realism for my taste....I just started taking driver's training . Anyways, what was the final word on the whole thing from all the parties? I'll have to check my city hall or something for exact laws about Macomb Township, and Macomb County. I think I'll be keeping the barrel orange, too Something tells me I'd perfer non-exact replica to several 9mm rounds, if someone really messes up registering an event like this again, or if I'm playing up north and some eagle-eyed neighbor wants to call the cops when I'm at my cottage.

that was fun heading to the PD to pick them up...and filling out like 24 cards with all my info...I have nothing else to say
then they wheeled them all out on a dolly...I have nothing else to say
