Yeah I know what you mean. That was my first AEG as well. Its not horrible but my doesn't feed .2's so I have to use .12's its not like I ever use it anymore so I don't care.
Ps. the reason I assosiated fps with the utg AK is because my has such crappy range and you can never feel it hit you from further than like 35 feet.

Hey guys me again. So I'm set, I'm buying the original version. I am thinking about buying through redwolf. Big Texas has highly recommended them for me, however, I am a bit leary about buying and having it shipped from out of country. Is there any quality stores based in the US I can buy from? Or should I just order from redwolf still?

I really dont think offering someone to get an AEG first is the right way to go. I purchased a CA M15A4 Carbine as my first rifle and I HATE AEGs. I cant stand them. Theres so many moving parts that something is bound to break. Not only that but you have to rely on batteries as your source of power. Essentially when the battery dies, you die. Magazines is another problem I have. You need atleast 1/2 dozen magazines to play correctly. And if you dont you will spend a lot more time refilling your mags than firing them. If you know sniping is what you really want to do I say go out and purchase the Maruzen. If you decide its not for you its not wasted money. You purchased yourself a nice, solid, reliable sniping rifle that can be further upgraded if you are reinterested. My CA M15A4 was the biggest waste of money in airsoft right now. My second is the damned CA Drop in cylinder kit for my Maruzen. The warning given is a good one. You will get decent fire out of it but it just doesnt do the rifle right after awhile. I shot in the high 540s. After one op and rec game it was shooting 475! Then the next time I chronoed it at Area 51 it was cold and it got chronoed at 517. But, I was in the same situation you were in. I wanted to go the same route and did. I do not regret purchasing what I did because it did tell me where I wanted to go, but that was 300$ that could have gone into internals for my Maruzen and is now a pile of unworking metal with a broken airseal nozzle and cylinder head. They can by cheaply fixed. But from 2 WEEKS of plinking it shouldnt have broken that fast. I would recommend getting the Maruzen APS-2 SV. I bought mine from AirsoftExtreme.com it was the only one and I dont recomend going there for buisness. They sent me my rifle without a magazine. They did send me one because I didnt receive mine. No questions were asked and it didnt cost me anything. I only found Maruzen APS2 SV/OR at Poweredge. If you want to get the L96 there are a lot of them out there. Use the list on the left of MiA's main page and type in Maruzen and watch them be everywhere. Poweredge APS2 List: www.poweredgeusa.com----------------------- Information ----------------------- If your going to shoot it stock your going to need to spend money on the Maruzen .29 or .36. I cant remember which it is but the Maruzen stock hop-up is not adjustable. First things to upgrade:Hop-upGet a PDI Hop-Up TriggerPSS2/FF Zero Trigger Bolt HandleGuarder/PSS2/FF Reinforced Bolt Handle You need the hop up to be replaced so you can adjust your shots where you want them. You need to upgrade your trigger if you upgrade your internals because after awhile it WILL break on you and you will need to replace it so its best to just get it out of the way and dont worry about it inconveniently breaking. The bolt handle can only handle so much stress. If you dont upgrade the internals everything will be fine but if you do make sure you get a Zero Trigger and a Reinforced Bolt Handle.

hey thank you very much. I'm all purchased now. I went through poweredge. It was more expensive than anywhere else I could find it. but it's shipping from the US for me, plus I got free UPS ground. Works well for me!
Anyways, I went with the original version. I want the iron sights. Mainly because of my budget, and I don't want to drop more money in on a scope right away to be able to aim well. My plan is pretty much shoot iron sighted for quite some time. I'm going to slowly drop money on upgrades for it, before going with a scope, so that way I increase the gun's performance before putting on my scope. I kinda find iron sights to be fun as well...I have nothing else to say but I'm most definitely going to get a scope for it for sure.

Scopes arnt really all that expensive and are much more effective that iron sights. The iron sights will make it dificult for hop-up and even simple target adjustments in general. You you see you need to make a shot a few "clicks" down and to the right you can see that BB hit specifically or the flight pattern by just putting it a it a little out of magnification. I have a Tasco x3-x9x40?mm. It is fine enough. I can see how my BB travels, were it goes, and were it lands and its easier to adjust my shots. I strongly advise getting one. My only cost me 40$, $3 on the dovetails, and my SV supplied the rail for me.

Well hey everyone, just got my rifle. it's awesome even though its stock....=) just had a few questions with it. when shooting I noticed that if I point the barrel down my bb will roll out....is this an issue with all the aps2's or just mine? I'm a bit concerned....what if I'm in a tree......XD also, looks like I'll be upgrading most of it this summer as opposed to over a few years. can someone give me a good listing of parts I should get for this thing? I'd prefer if I bought through the US. I like poweredge. and they have sniper parts listed, but I think I'm the product of two siblings sleeping together.. doy! what is what. I'm a bit confused. Thanks, Infidel

Roughly 500 FPS. If you're looking for about 550 FPS, go with a PDI APS 300% Spring. Also all those part numbers are from WGG Shop in Hong Kong, you'll have to look around if you want them stateside, but pretty much no place stateside is going to carry all those parts.

Dutton also forgot to ad the Zero Trigger that you will need to take the stress of the upgrades.

Dutton also forgot to ad the Zero Trigger that you will need to take the stress of the upgrades. Haha, I just copy/pasted the list I wrote on the sniper forums for an M24, which don't need the zero trigger. But yes, with an APS, a Zero Trigger is a very good decision.

The problem with the bb rolling out could be with your hopup, someone correct me if i'm wrong.
