Is the UHC MP5-SD3 a good gun? I am considering buying it.

If you're in the springer scene, than yes it's just about the best springer out there.

I got my SD3 I love it as far as springers go. I can even mount my ak scope onto it without any screws. It is about the same price as a NBB so you might want to consider getting something that does at least semi-auto. Or save up and get a GBB, or an AEG, or just sell a kidney and get an airsoft minigun.

I decided to get the MP5-SD3 from UHC. It shoots really hard for a springer. I saw that one before and I was afraid becasue I didn't know what pump was. Now I look back and I should have got that one.

I had a question about this particular spring rifle. One, What size bb's are compatible with it? Two, is the silencer removable and is the stock fixed or is it retractable? and three, how does this gun compare with the old mp5? I am new at this sport so I just wanted to get some things straight before i purchased this gun.

All airsoft guns shoot 6mm bb's. The small metal bbs that you see all over the place are .17 cal bb's. You can't switch between the two. When you buy a gun, 50 or so bb's (6mm) come with the gun. Of course you will have to buy more.
Silencer does come off and stock does retract. Be careful though- these pieces might break off. (The stock is completely made out of plastic)
Earlier mentioned was the pump version. I don't suggest the pump MP5 SD3, it has the second lowest velocity out of any air gun (the only thing worse is a pump uzi). The reqular version uses the charging handle (the little nob on the left side of the gun) to cock.

The UHC MP5SD3's Stock is METAL. (I am holding it in my hand as I speak and all the ones on our shelf have metal stocks with the plastic buttplate.
edit: assuming you were talking about the UHC...

All airsoft guns shoot 6mm bb's. Except for the ones that shoot 8mm BBs.... ;D
