Going to buy a WA pistol. Originally I was thinking a SV Infinity Tactical Carry, but after fondling the .45's at my local drool shop, I have come to decide that they are for persons with much larger hands. So, I tried on a few Berettas for size. While not as pleasing to my eyes, they are much more ergonomic (IMO). Anyway, the 2 that fit me best were the Cougar and Cheetah. The Cheetah was easy to decide against with a low BB capacity. Which left me leaning towards a Cougar. Not only are they available with a rail for a tac-light, but they're full-auto capable too. The replica is going to be used as a CQB primary mostly so those features are a definite plus.
So, I searched my ass off and I'm ready to ask for a little assistance with information on the WA Beretta M8045 in the Blade, Wild, or Warrior configuration. There don't seem to be any reviews on the newer M8045's, only the standard one.
Any info or experiences you have had, or have run across on a forum, with a similar replica would be helpful, but the main issue that concerns me:
While there does seem to be some conflicting info out there, it sounds like it doesn't have a hop up. (The standard WA Beretta M8045 does.) Why? I read somewhere (I think on WA's site actually) that it makes it more accurate for short range? OK. Is it going to be worth a crap for long range then? Not like I'm going to use it for sniping, but more range is better IMO.

well most WA pistols are very well built, so i wouldn't worry too much about quality.
If you are going to use your pistol for CQB I'm guessing you'll probably use it mostly for door entry with the flashlight. I wouldn't worry too much about range though you do want accuracy, and I would stay away from full-auto. You'll drain your mag in a second if you get in a firefight. Single shot forces you to place your shots.
You should look at the WA berreta CQB model. It has a rail and is beautiful.

You are going to want hop-up. My WA SVI champ .45 doesn't have hop up and the only way that I'm getting decent range is because it's running at about 400fps. By decent, I mean about 50 feet being my maxium range. But since you're probably using this for shooting at people, you don't want to run it that high. You'll be looking at getting around 30 accurate feet before the bb really drops with a short barreled gun like that with no hop up. My only experience with the cougar is with the standard version, and it did have hopup. But then, WGC themselves say that the others don't have hop up. The only one they don't mention hop up on is the Blade version. I'd like to think that it means that it does have hop up, but WGC doesn't mention hop up on the SVI champ .45 and that doesn't have hop up. You might find somebody that has it on www.airsoftplayers.com , they have a lot more members than we do. If you do end up getting a gun that doens't have hop up and you want it, you can probably find an aftermarket barrel with hop up.

Thanks for the replies Super and Knief, Wasn't really worried about the quality, just the lack of a hop-up, or any other issue that I hadn't thought of that maybe someone else has. I may end up with a full size beretta, but it seems like the cougar is more comfortable for me than the 92's. I'm not sure if the cougar is actually smaller in the grip area or not, but it seemed like it when I was holding them. Not really worried about the full auto option either. It was more coincidence that the one I want has it. Don't suspect I would find much use for full auto anyway, but it would be nice to at least have the option. Thanks again for the excellent heads up Knief. You've pretty well told me what I was figuring. I want that extra range that a hop-up is going to give me. Why limit yourself if you don't have to. Planning on running HFC134 like they recommend to get the maximum life out of it, so no high velocity for me. Redwolf says the blade has hop-up. As you mentioned Knief, WGC doesn't mention hop up on the blade, but does mention that the wild and the warrior don't. Uncompany says that the wild and the blade don't, but doesn't say on the warrior. Who do you believe? Go to the WA site right? If anyone should know, they should right? Pricks don't have their website updated to include info on the blade or the wild, but they at least do confirm that the warrior does not have hop-up. Well Knief, you've pointed me to Airsoft Players 3 times now for different issues and I just can't seem to take the hint. I hate that site. If it makes you feel any better I did do a search on ASP before posting here. What site might I look at to find aftermarket barrels for that gun?

Odly enough, the grip on the Cougar is thicker than that on the regular M92, although a little bit shorter. I think it's more comfortable, aswell. I like a good thick grip, so I love my WA double stacker. The thing with the cougar grip is that it gets narrower right at the top, so the crotch of your hand get's in closer to the trigger than it could be. Den says hop and UN says not? Trust the boys on www.ukairsoft.net and www.arniesairsoft.co.uk . Hopefully there will be a thread on one of those that deals with this line. I have nothing else to say, I point everybody towards ASP. After airsoftzone went down and AO went to hell, ASP was the last major American forum. I sort of forget that they lost all of their info recently, too. I searched high and low on WGC to try to find an aftermarket barrel with hop and couldn't find it. It sounds like you already checked out Den, but if you haven't yet, I'd start there. After that, maybe redwolf or UNcomanpy. Really, Den and WGC are the only two sites I know that have a lot of aftermarket pistol parts.

Actually the only spot I looked for an "aftermarket" barrel was on the WA site. Rather retarted in hindsite.
In all reality I was thinking WA might have an upgrade barrel on their site. Guess I'll take a look at WGC, UN, and RedW when I get the ambition up.
I'm starting a thread on ASP too.
Thanks again Knief, you knowledge is appreciated.

Did you take a look at the P14. I got to see one in action a while ago and they look and shoot very nicely.
