Placed my order for a G&P Rapid Fire AEG on January 5th. The website showed the item was in stock. During the checkout process I clicked the box stating "paint on orange tip" and "If item is not in stock: Cancel entire order and issue refund" just in case. I selected 3 day express shipping which was required, and waited for my invoice.
January 7th the invoice was emailed to me showing an increase in price. I paid the amount that day and waited for my confirmation email. January 12th I emailed them requesting a status update. My confirmation was emailed to me and I was told the tracking information would follow. Two weeks went by with absolutely no communication from Uncompany. I had ordered from them before and had a great experience so I figured I would give them the benefit of the doubt. I figured out that if you want Uncompany to answer you, you must send a new email each time. They either do not receive any response emails or they are sent to an un checked folder.
I finally received a response on January 23rd claiming the Rapid Fire was not in stock, and that the factory had to make one "just for me" and it would be ready very soon. Pretty much BS. I asked them to just cancel the order. The next email was a response with a tracking number. G&P built a Rapid Fire just for me in about 20 minutes. I'm thinking either they are located close enough to the G&P factory that they can just walk over and get one, or it was just sitting on the shelf until they felt like getting to it.
I received an update that my package arrived stateside on the 28th. It sat in customs until February 4th, and arrived to me on February 6th.
I opened the package and much to my mixed emotions there was no orange tip. On one hand I have the full factory finish, on the other it could have been seized or destroyed or whatever customs does with them. Given the communications prior with Uncompany I'm glad I didn't have to mess around with that ordeal. FWIW their clerk answered with excellent English. The AEG did arrive in perfect condition with no damage or signs of previous handling. This means it isn't a floor model or anything just shipped to make me happy.
In the end I received my item in good condition. The time taken to ship (when I had to pay for express shipping), difficulty of communication, and the risk of no orange tip will keep me from doing business with Uncompany in the future.
