Thanks guys for the melee info, I am probably going to bring my light sabers! and my friend has some regular rubber tomahawks and swords. And Kjones, its good to hear you got your HPA filled! As one of the event hosts, please do not get too caught up in trying to knife kill somebody. This is not backyard airsoft. The odds of making a knife kill are extremely low. Also, we only allow a gentle tap, preferably on the gear when performing a knife kill. Don't get caught overly excited and swing a tomahawk at somebody, because somebody will probably swing back. We try to avoid physical contact as much as possible during our rec games because it is way to easy for somebody to over react. If knife kills become an issue due to excessive contact, the offending party will be asked to leave without refund. I'm not going to deal with a physical altercation because somebody wants to run around with a light saber. The field owner will also probably be a lot less polite about it than I would be, so please understand the rules and be very careful.

Yes, I understand. I wont be smacking people super hard, maybe just a gentle tap from behind.

This is going to be the first time playing airsoft in 3 years. Put me down for +1 as well. Hope to fully get back into the sport!
Both myself and my buddy will be wearing desert camo.

I know HPA systems are limited to 1.55J, but does this field use the same parameters (in Joules, not FPS) as Bastards events do to find MEDs for HPA systems? Like this:
• 1.0 - 340.9 fps (0.01j - 1.07j) - Arms length engagement limit
• 341.0 - 400.9 fps (1.08 - 1.49j) - 20 foot engagement limit
• 401.0 - 539.9 fps (1.50j - 2.69j) – 50 foot engagement limit, bolt action or permanent* semi-auto replicas only

We allow up to 1.55j for Hpa. Period, nothing over. So from 0-1.14j is arms length 1.14j-1.55j is 20ft. We go by the 10 fps +/- included on the MIA rule set, so 0-350 fps is arms length, 351-410 fps is 20 foot and full auto cut off. Direct quote from the MIA rules: As of April 24, 2009, these rules include a 10fps "tolerance zone". Players will be allowed onto the field if their weapons shoot up to 10.0 fps over the published limit. OUTDOOR/OPEN FIELD ENGAGEMENT LIMITS • 1.0 - 340.9 fps - Arms length engagement limit • 341.0 - 400.9 fps - 20 foot engagement limit • 401.0 - 540.9 fps – 50 foot engagement limit, bolt action or permanent* semi-auto replicas only • 541.0+ fps - Prohibited or allowed with permission of event organizer only Here's the joules chat I go by:

Do you mean 1.55j for P* not all HPA in general? I have my bolt action sniper rifle that shoots 520 fps (2.5j) on green gas. I plan on keeping the HPA setup at the same fps just using hpa for consistency.

I plan on keeping the HPA setup at the same fps just using hpa for consistency. I meant HPA platforms. This would include SMP, Daytona Guns, and Polarstars. Last time I checked HPA bolt actions regulate the magazine, not the entire replica. Bolt actions can still be used with the established rules, but will be chronoed and tagged the same way that HPA platforms are. This means with the bb weight you are going to be using. HPA bolt actions can not be made to fire auto, so the concern with over shooting with them is lowered. You will have the higher MED associated with the higher fps and ANYONE found shooting with in their MED will be removed from the game.

I have like half a bag of .30s left. If I run out can I re-chrono my PolarStar presumably mid day with .25s?
