I have a Valken Tactical Thunder-B, and I've been using it with their dumbbell-style shells. It worked fine for quite a while, but now I can't get it to actually explode like it should. All it does is swell the bottom of the shell and leak. Someone told me that the pineapple frag shells burst more consistently, so I might try that out. However, I want to get some other opinions from here first. What do you guys think the problem is?

I've been using the pineapple shells for a while and I haven't had a single problem with any of them. I have noticed however that they don't produce as loud of a boom as the dumbbell or flash bang style shells.

Here's my thoughts. 1) Make sure you have the shell screwed on tight. 2) I've also found that if the spring is wearing out, or you get CO2 cartridges that have thicker seals, you might have to shim the cartridge with a penny or two, to push it up some. This will make the seal be pierced more fully. If it is not pierced enough, it will drain out too slowly. If it drains too slowly, it will leak out of the grenade without bursting it. For it to burst, it really needs to fill and pressurize quickly.

I take a razor blade and lightly score the outside in a single spiral all the way around from top to bottom. Your shells will blow everytime. Has worked for me on every TB shell varience currently out now. I know this will help.

I usually smash the thunder b on a wall or my helmet to get it to fully pierce. It usually blows up in about 3 seconds instead of 5-10.

Wow, lots of help. Thanks guys I'll try out all of your recommendations. I was previously considering the method that xoutlawx posted, but I'm not quite sure how deep to go. You said lightly score it. Do you mean that you just scratch it?

You can use a bit of pressure, I wouldn't cut more than a third of the way deep on it. They are pretty tough to cut all the way through, so you should be alright.
