I don't have that much money to blow on a hobby to get it fixed for $50-$150. I have to buy a bunch of mid caps anyways, so I'm looking at a $300 budget currently to play this game including food etc. I will ask the event organizer at the event if it is OK as it's only once in a while that 2 shots are fired.

Zander please keep in mind that most national events are non-refundable, which keeps registration to those who will really go. Take the last Lion Claws game I went to in VA - OP Shahrazad. For this game John Lu offered pre-registation and I had 150 players on my team. When it came time to pay that went down to 60, while the other side was still at 150. I was able to get 20 more players with the Airsoft GI and Polarstar teams but we were pretty badly outnumbered overall.
If you cannot get someone to switch with you then PM me here and I will check with the Major.
eagledriver, I understand where you are coming from, but giving them a months notice before registration closes is pretty fair, especially from a veteran airsofter. I'd hate to be out the $175 when they had more than enough time to accommodate me. If they had any events in the SoCal area, I'd gladly roll my registration over to one of those events, but they do not. GBiz mentioned he might take my spot, but nothing is concrete yet.

Zander we will have an OP in SOCAL, but it has not been approved by the base commander (after months if waiting...) so we have no idea when (also a new CACTF/MOUT facility). But I don't think he will have an issue giving a refund if you cannot fill the spot.
