My bucking is torn up on my ARES SR25. So I put a Madbull red bucking in. Now it's overhopping. My tech told me that the stock nub and bucking combo is basically not the right combo. Makes sense. Here is when the problem comes in. The nub is a special shape so the arm is made just for that nub, not normal nubs. My tech says he can maybe switch out the arm for a normal arm which would be awesome. Now if that doesn't work, I would need to get a whole new hop up unit. Can I use a standard SR25/M4 hop up or do I need a specially made hop up just for ARES SR25s? Does anyone know of a good bucking/nub combo for this weapon set up? I found a bucking on Evike for Echo 1/Classic Army SR25s, would that maybe work in mine? My tech says no but maybe some one might help us out.

You really have a multitude of options if you think outside the box a little. For instance, what about an m nub? All you need is a flat spot on the arm and you just stick it on with the adhesive backing. I'd have to see a picture of the arm but I'd imagine you could modify it so a regular nub will fit. I've also even heard of people using a square piece of an eraser as a nub.

The ares unit takes a peanut shaped nub, and thus the arm is a little oddly shaped. Another solution might be to cut the mound off of the bucking, as it is over hopping in its current configuration, and might be fine without.

Just run really, really heavy BBs. Jokes aside, SR25 hop-ups seem similar to M4 versions, I haven't honestly tested this yet but from what I've seen of the Ares it looks similar to the A&K which in turn looks similar to regular M4s. I'd probably just shave the mound down similar to R-Hopping though instead of replacing the hop-up unit or modifying the arm.
