It is most certainly possible. My advice: Don't use much solder, and find a way to keep everything in place. The less ghetto the setup, the better.

I have a spare motor, you can use for parts if you wish. All the tabs are still good on it, it just needs one of the springs that pushes a brush on the axle.
It's missing a few pieces, but might be nice to experiment with for ya.

Do you mean for free? That would be great! Thanks, all!

Solder or JB weld would be your best bet if you're trying to fix it.
If things are past that now, you can order RC brush housings. Just have to get your dimensions measured to search what you will need.

When a motor tab broke on one of my motors I just bought a parts motor from someone on MIA and replaced the entire plate.

If you have the cash you could always upgrade to a better motor. Unless it's already a nice one.

Sent a parts motor your way, let me know that you got it and follow up with what you end up doing.

well, it arrived today! the motor base was missing one spring-esque coil, so once i replaced that part with the coil the tabless motor had, then put the entire new assembly on, it worked pretty well. You guys are the best!
On a side note, i now have a crippling fear of the insides of motors. Its so wiry that They look at you and say, "break one of these wires, pal. i dare you." see how that ends. *shudder

They're actually not all that complicated. Though, if you do break a wire, it will not work... Once you understand how they work, it's really easy to work on them. I rewind motors all the time. Glad to see you got your issue sorted out.

Motors aren't that bad. You just have to get to know them (just like mechboxes). They are one of those things that a lot of airsoft techs say, "I'll let someone else worry about that."
