Alright, so recently I shortened my M4 to CQB length and when I went to shoot it, I could not shoot far at all. So I began to add hop, still shot the same. Continuously did this until the hop reached its max and the dial would not turn anymore. They all shot the same. I was wondering if anyone had the same issues as I do or how I can fix it. Thanks!

Pull your hop up apart and inspect the bucking for any possible rips or tears. Also make sure your spacer is seated appropriately in the hop up arm. After inspecting everything, and putting the hop up back on the barrel, go from off to max and look down the bore (before pitting back in the gun) and see if it has any change from off to max.

I had the same problem and it was because the hop up nub was missing.

I inspected everything... nothing looks bad, except it does look warn out. The only problem with that is I've only had it for 2 weeks and it still goes up and down... puzzling....

Did you disassemble the hop-up/barrel at all before this (like change the barrel from an M4 length to CQB length)? Or did you just put a new front end on it?

Nah, a new inner barrel, not just front end. I have done it the same as all the other times I have replaced the barrel, and I don't see a reason as to why this would be any different. I did drop some silicone airsoft lube down the hop up, maybe that is why? I may inspect this a little later as well.

Hop up works via friction. Silicon counteracts that. So maybe check if there is any silicon on the contact patch.

Down the hop-up how? The only place you really want lube is on the outside of the bucking to slide into the hop-up nice and easy. Besides that you don't want any anywhere else.

Well originally it was in the magazine because it was sticking down and I had to keep slapping it, and I put some on a couple of bb's as a medium of transfer to the magazine and it got to the hop up if that makes any sense. But I'll clean that down and see if it gets better.

Is the new barrel high quality? I can imagine that the barrel could have been damaged or something. If it was bent down slightly, or the bore was inconsistent, it would definately mess with the path of your shots.

I have a feeling that it is probably the silicone that is getting to it. Never thought of the hop up that way, working as friction. So I'm sure I had a major derp moment.
