Two unrelated questions came up during my last game.
1) I have a pair of WE Baby HiCapas. Fielded one once before, the other was brand new aside from plinking in my garage at boxes. A few times during the day it was pistol go time, and I whipped out my gat and got a whole six shots off. At first I thought I'd somehow not filled the mag full of gas, or it got real cold, or something.
Eventually figured out that mag out, the gas holds fine. I can slap it in and get around 40 shots off. But if I keep on in a pistol for half an hour, they're nearly empty. I can't hear any gas leaking from either, and this happened both in a pouch of my LBV and a thigh rig.
2) My AK has always shot pretty toasty as long as I've had it. 465ish. I've fielded it either through trust from the field owner, or just removing the external selector arm with it down on semi. This past weekend, I did just that intending to run around semi-only to my hearts content, but I realized before I even got back to the chrono to show a ref, that two or three shots wiggled it back to full. After some more fiddling, and it going between not firing, going full auto and occasionally working semi only, it got left in my front seat.
I'd really like something reverseable to make it semi only. Because sometimes, mostly backyard plinking, I really would like to still go full dakka.

As for the second one, AKs are a bit tricky (if not, impossible) to do this on. Because you have to go through full auto to get to semi, you can't limit the selector plate at all. I'm not an AK expert, so maybe someone else knows more.

Easiest way to get it semi only is a MOSFET. As for the mags try dripping a little silicone oil into the oil rings my Teflon tape around the gaskets as well.

If I remember correctly, shaving down a portion of your selector plate will make the rifle *permanent* semi only. Can most likely find several images/guides on Google on how to do this. I'm not too familiar with a version 3 GB, so it might be a little different. Although if you don't want to disassemble the gun, like Coldwave originally stated, a MOSFET would be by far the easiest route to go, I'm not too sure if the FET will designate it as a "permanent" semi only rifle, though.

If the MOSFET is programmable, then it will not be considered "permanent." This could of course vary between fields, but I think that's the general consensus.

Yeah, I was trying to avoid the need for modifying the selector plate. Or buying another one to drop in and pull out as needed. I guess I'll just look into a MOSFET, then. Thanks all for the advice there. I'd figured that was one of my simpler options, but never hurts to ask when I can't find anything else. As for the pistol mags, they've gotten a decent not of oil put on them. I let the orings get leaky on another pistol that went unused for years, so I want to avoid that happening again. I just don't know why the mags leak in the pistols. Not real familiar with the actual function of GBBs. EDIT: Further checked out the pistols at home. Sure enough, freshly filled they snap off as many rounds as I'd expect. A filled mag, left alone for a full day and slapped in worked the same. By inserting a magazine, and shaking it around, pressing it side to side and front to back didn't cause any audible leaking either. I thought maybe the pin was ever so slightly making contact normally or something, but that's surely not the case. Particularly when things are cocked.
