Any ideas to keep a battery running long in the cold? Thinking about putting one of those hand warmers next to the battery for my M60.

Any ideas to keep a battery running long in the cold? Thinking about putting one of those hand warmers next to the battery for my M60. This question gets asked every year on MIA, and this idea always gets mentioned. For your own safety do not put a hand warmer next to your battery. This is a bad and unsafe idea. I'm no chemist but in the event that the hand warmer generates too much heat and makes any contact with your battery or should the chemical hand warmer pack rupture, the results will not be good. I've had great success with using batteries in my AEGs during the winter with little failure. This is what I suggest. 1. Invest in higher quality batteries. Most of my batteries never die on me during the winter time. Hell I use 11.1 1000mAh buffer tube lipos and they lasted all day during Western Gambit in mid December and still had charges until I just recharged mine like a week ago. 2. Store your batteries in a warm and dry place until game time. I keep my batteries in my car until I turn it off then they go in an inside coat pocket close to my body so that my body produces just enough heat for my batteries to stay warm and toasty. I even remove the battery between when I chrono my AEG(s) and when I walk on the field with them. 3. Have extra batteries. If you only have one battery then you're already setting yourself up for failure. Have at least two batteries. This is good for all year playing in the event that your battery should die. That's my advice.
