I have been wanting to throw in an electrical trigger unit of sorts and have been wondering which one might have the most/best praise in the local community. Some of the ones I have looked at consist of: BTC Chimera BTC Spectre ASCU Gen3
What is the general consensus on these, are there others that are more preferred, and any general notes, comments, concerns, or reviews on any of them? Which is the most for your money?
I used to want the ASCU, but recently did some research and leaning towards the Spectre.
I just wanted to get some input from you guys before I spend some decent money on a trigger unit.
Thanks!

Spectre hands down. I have one and it is pretty much all I could want. The ASCU I don't know much about but they are nowhere near as highly regarded as BTC. The chimera is like the spectre but it has most if the electronics outside the box except for the trigger assembly and cutoff sensor IIRC. It would give you all the same functionality but takes up more space so I don't really see the point.

Go with the spectre, the chimera is really good but the spectre is just better.

Thanks guys, this is what I was looking for. Definitely going for the spectre for my primary build.
EDIT: It also turns out that they are out of stock on Spectres on btcairsoft. Does anyone know if they can be bought anywhere else?

Google it... The main website is out of stock at the moment. But you can search around, that's our best bet.

I personally have a gen 3+ ASCU fet in my Dboys AK74m. It works flawlessly for me, however most reviews I've seen from looking around say that BTC makes better fet systems. If I were to build another AEG, I'd put a spectre in it. So far the only thing I disliked about the ASCU is that it didn't come wired with deans.

Does one have to make any modifications to their GB for the Spectre, or is it more of a plug and play installment?

You have to remove some parts internally you it to work properly, other than that, there may be slight differences between gearbox shells in which it may fit better in some as opposed to others. But for the most part, it pretty much is install and play. Spectre is not a 'plug in' it replaces the trigger contact housing, and i believe also the cutoff lever.

Installing a Spectre is very easy and is made easier if you read the instructions provided with it. They are well written and do a good job at reminding you to check each contact point (selector plate to selector sensors, sector sensor to sector gear, trigger to trigger sensor) individually before testing the unit as a whole. The only problems I've heard of are due to people having their sector gear shimmed too high or having a selector plate that is too loose.
I've had mine for about 7k cycles and everything works fantastic. My only complaint is that installation requires you to remove the safety lever, so the trigger is no longer blocked in safe. It doesn't fire since the selector sensors aren't depressed, but I'd prefer that I not be able to pull it. Just something I wasn't aware of before I got one, but it wouldn't have stopped me from getting it.
