I am looking to purchase a VFC scar L, the cqc version, in the near future. I want to put a suppressor on it, but Im not too knowledgeable of them. I am looking to get one that is not too long, probably 150mm or 190mm at the most. I need to know though what length inner barrel would work best with this setup, and If anyone has specific suppressor suggestions I would appreciate it. Also if anyone has a similar setup that they could post pictures of I would be greatful, as I would like to see what the cqc model would look like with a suppressor in the 150-190mm lenght range. Thanks.

What I know is that the inner barrel length of a VFC SCAR-L is 380mm (The STD. version), and what are you looking for in terms of a suppressor? Do you want a foam filled one to lower decibels the replica produces, or do you want to make it have a longer inner barrel?

Im just looking for a suppressor that can hide a longer inner tightbore barrel for the cqc version, and it doesnt have to be foam filled, I just want it to make the gun look nice. I found this on google, this is what im looking to do, but im unsure on the inner barrel length, and im also unsure of what the best type of suppressor would be. I know that the cqc version has a 300mm inner barrel (as found on evike.com), and to add a suppressor i've read that you just add the length of the suppressor to the existing inner barrel length (give or take a few mm). This would mean I would have to buy a 450mm or 490mm inner barrel depending on the length suppressor I choose, but it just seems like that would be way too long. And I dont want to order a barrel that is too long because places like evike and asgi have crappy return policies. Thanks

I don't really think getting a longer inner barrel will greatly improve your accuracy. At this point I would upgrade to a nice stock length tightbore and work ok getting your Hopup performing perfectly.

I've ran a few barrel lengths over 363mm. The performance returns are not that great for the added length you have to sling around through heavy cover.
I've ran an M4 with a 363mm, 407mm, and 509mm 6.03mm TBBs. I have tried a combination of the barrels with both full and ported cylinders (Magic Box brand).
Though my 509mm setup shot good, I can get the same range out of my 363mm at a lower and more consistent FPS. (longer barrel increased FPS by 10-15, putting me over 400fps)
To be perfectly honest, my most accurate setup that shoots the longest is my G&G MP5 with the stock 240mm barrel, r-hopped with stock green bucking. Gearbox is stock ans shoots 340ish fps.
I always thought I needed a longer barrel to be more accurate, but I always just ended up lugging around an already long m4 with an added 150mm suppressor on the end.
In the long run, some work on your guns compression, a good bucking, and a stock length 6.03 barrel will probably be more accurate and easier to use.

The suppressor would really just be for looks, and I figured that if I had to extend the inner barrel to use one I might as well put a tightbore in. I would consider putting a sweet flash hider on it, like a barrett 50 tank style, but I'm unsure of how it'll look

You don't have to extend the inner barrel if you get a silencer. In my opinion I wouldn't put a "tank" style one on it, it'd look horrible in my opinion.
*Edit I actually was fooling around in Photoshop adding one to a SCAR-L and it was so ugly I deleted it after I was done, but that's my opinion. /shrug

yeah while I was at work I was looking at different options and thinking about how they would look, and a tank flash hider would look way out of place. I did find a QD suppressor for the scar, which i wouldnt mind. My only issue with not putting a longer inner barrel to reach the end of the suppressor is that it seems like the bb would just hit the end before it even left the suppressor. Im not sure if this will actually happen or not, so if someone know about this and can clear up the confusion I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Also in terms of inner barrels which is better, the angel custom G2 6.01mm tightbore, or the Madbull black python 6.03mm tightbore?

Madbull 6.03 is a great barrel. 6.01's can run into jam issues from dirt buildup and crazy full auto fire.

Your bbs will not hit the end of your suppressor unless you have a problem elsewhere in the barrel or hop up. If you are hitting the end of your suppressor, then your accuracy downrange with or without the suppressor was going to he shit anyway, and repairs were in order. Put it this way, without wind, most AEGs will have a sub-1 inch grouping at 50 feet when benched. The angle of that spread is such that the hole in the fron of a suppressor 6inches or so infront of your inner barrel is practically a chasm.

Yeah that makes sense. Thanks for all the help everyone I think now I'll be able to build my ideal scar setup. I still have to save a bit more to buy everything for this setup, but once I get it ill post pics and let you all know how it turns out. Thanks.
