To all:
TODAY IS THE LAST DAY TO PREPAY FOR OPERATION: WESTERN GAMBIT!!!
Although we haven't really had much of a benefit to the players in prepayment in the past, you can expect in the future to be a discount to those who prepay, as prepaying does the following for us: 1) Allows us to secure the field in the first place -- Most field owners require down payment to reserve a date, as they don't like no shows more than we do.
2) Allows us to purchase extras for the players on game day (Wristbands, patches, cases of water, ect..)
3) Allows us to purchase props to increase the overall experience of the game, on game day.
If you prepay anytime after 11:59PM TONIGHT, you can expect that money to be refunded to you, as it will not be enough time for us to transfer it to a bank account and withdraw it into actual cash.
Looking forward to a good game next weekend, hopefully each side is adequately prepared. We're still looking for volunteers to be commanders and squad leaders, please reference the power point presentation on what is expected of you at these levels before raising your hands on it, as failure to know the rules on game day will result in increased casualties and slower medivac times.
Mosin

Does anyone know if H.S. staff will be selling any smoke grenades?

Mosin What power point presentation are you referring to? I'm POSSIBLY interested in being Squad Leader for my squad, but I have NO PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE in ANY LEADERSHIP roles WHAT-SO-EVER. I'm willing to try my hand, at the risk of regretting having not tried at all. Puma and I have been discussing this, and he is fine with me trying it out, and apparently, Novak might be able to lead should I be ineffective towards squad efficiency. Are Squad Leader roles permanent through the whole event, or can we switch it around? I'm really not sure I'll be able to do it, but I want to at least try if possible.I take it back, I changed my mind. [EDIT] MY ONE-HUNDREDTH POST!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO [/IDIOCY]

Not trying to bash anyone, this is just my opinion. If you don't have any experience in the military, or milsims, DON'T take a command position. Let the more experienced guys run command, while you gain experience in the milsim world. With the amount of people attending this, there is lots of them whom are capable of running a squad and/or a entire team.

Roster Updated.
We need Commanders and Squad Leaders. If we don't have anyone sign up ahead of time, they will be selected on game day, giving the leaders no time to prepare.

While you'll get a fair amount of trigger time as well, you'll be responsible for the coordination of birds to land to revive your wounded as well as assigning who will be doing what on objective. Hope someone steps up to the plate on this.

You just made me think of bringing it up.

Hope someone steps up to the plate on this. I was talking about being Squad Leader, not Commander. I just thought my hyper-vigilance could benefit my squad, but now I'm thinking I'd rather be scout or medic. I wasn't super confident in being squad leader, demonstrated by how I told Puma1 that "if everybody else in the squad would rather lose an arm and a leg than be squad leader, I'd like to give it a shot".[EDIT] If it sounds like I'm being provocative, I apologize, for that was not my intention. [/EDIT]

You should be confident in your ability to lead and make decisions, but almost as important as that is you need to know how to act upon contact. If your first thought as a squad leader upon a few bbs flying overhead of the pointman is to run up next to him and shoot back, it's probably not for you. Squad leaders act as overall "puppet masters" that need to pull the appropriate strings on their team members in order to get them where they need to be.
If you take any casualties, you would be responsible for radioing in to the overall Commander with your coordinates, how many wounded you have, and how soon you need a bird to come in, as this will be the only immediate way for respawn. If you think you're up for that challenge, then by all means, I encourage you to step up.
My very first big time event that wasn't a rec game, I was a "Team commander" for whatever side we were playing for. As I recall it everyone went home that day and nobody hated any calls I made on the field, and that was when I was 14.
As it would appear, unless we get an overall Team Commander for each side, it'll be designated members of RAGE to do it, which as I understand will put me as OPFOR Commander and Relarz as US Commander, so we'll see.

Like I said, I was not trying to target anyone. You just made me think of bringing it up. Okay, that makes me feel better, thanks for clarifying that with me! No problem. My point is there is more to being in charge of a squad then giving orders. Tailgating off of what Mosin said, everyone in your squad is your responsibility and they will look to you for decisions. If you can't process rationality and logic from panic under stress and adrenaline, it will most likely be very hard for you and your squad to be productive.
