Hello all! New to airsoft and hope to learn a bit here and possibly make some friends.
A little Bio: I'm 29, married with our first kid on the way (strange time in life to get into airsoft, eh?). I live in the Metro Detroit area. I'm coming from the real firearm community. I would like this hobby to supplement that hobby.
I stumbled across the WE gas blow back M&P and am wanting to order one this weekend. I think it's going to be a great training tool at home and in FoF training.
If it turns out to be as much fun as it seems like it's going to be I think I'd like to get an AR to match my BCM as well and use it for some home fun and maybe get into this community.
Well, just stopping in to say "hello".

Welcome!
You've stumbled on a great wealth of information, feel free to look around and ask questions.
Your avatar looks like The Firing Line, or am I way off?

Welcome to the community. Airsoft is definitely a great way to train for real steel stuff and its a lot cheaper as well. Here's a great video about using Airsoft for RS training: www.youtube.com/watch?v=GoHA-rhGeG4I have a feeling you'll be hooked though once you make it out to a game. It's the only time you can aim and shoot realistic looking guns at people without anyone getting hurt and then laugh about it afterwards. Check out the events section whenever you get a chance. There should be a few local events posted there monthly.

Welcome to the community. I didn't get started with airsoft until I was 34, so I know where you're coming from. If you don't mind me asking, what is your BCM comprised of? Part of my AR15 is BCM, I have the 16" Mid light barrel and their Full-Auto BCG. I also love having both my RS and my Airsoft pistol being the same, HK45. Any time spent on one or the other is beneficial practice.

I have their full auto BCG coated in Nickel Boron. I sorta wish I would have went 16". I wanted to keep it light and compact but that pinned muzzle device makes changing things out a pain. Nice pistol, BTW.

Welcome to the community!
If I were you, I would not put money into a WE. They are known to be junk and break after a short period of time. My WE F226 only lasted me six months before having half a hundred issues. I'm sure people will back me up when I say to skip WE all together and settle with a KJW for starts, or a KWA/TM for optimal performance.
Once again, welcome to MiA, and get out and sling plastic!

Thanks for the heads up. I've read mixed reviews on it. Is there another company making an M&P replica yet? I know one has the compact out, but I want a full size. All I want is an M&P since that is what all my real gear is based on.

HK3p makes quality Glock replicas according to a lot of reviews, so I would imagine their M&P is decent as well. shop.ehobbyasia.com/hk3p-m-p-bb-02-airsoft-gbb-pistol-tan.html

Yeah the only realistic M&P that's out on the market is the Cybergun (VFC OEM) M&P Compact. Word on the street is that a full size version will be released in 2014 by them You're in the same boat I am. I own a full size S&W M&P9 myself and am looking to replace my KWA Beretta M92FS with a M&P but other than the WE M&P and the CO2 Non Blow back version, there aren't any realistic full size models out yet. Welcome to MIA!

Thanks, fellas. And thanks Pagan for the reference on the HK3p, didn't know about that. It says out of stock but I'll look around for that model at another store.
I like that that one has S&W markings.

Welcome to the mitten of airsoft my man. By the sounds of it, you're taking a big chunk of information from MiA, and making sure you get the rights out of it. You're going to fit in nicely, and because you're coming from the real steel counterpart of airsoft, you're going to be one hell of a fighter.
Hoping to meet you at an event soon, and again welcome to MiA!
