This may seem silly or redundant, but I couldn't find a thread concerning this. If there is one, please point me to it. As far as I know, contractors are limited to the tan side as their respective camo is black top, tan bottoms. Is it possible that we could have a green contractor faction with green bottoms instead? This would allow players that want to build contractor load outs, not to be limited to tan faction all the time.

Anything is possible. However not many games I have seen/been to have done it. This is something that you could suggest to game hosts, or include in a game if you want to host.

I think the main reason is pretty much since I can remember, the tan side has been the "cool guy" side. Probably because all our major military actions in the last 20 years have taken place in deserts and mountainous areas. And since the rise of the modern PMC has taken place in these areas, they all pretty much dress the part for that as well. I would totally be in favor of some green side PMC's in the flavor of late 80's to early 90's Executive Outcomes, Triple Canopy, etc. I think for the sake of simplicity though, you would have to decide which side your "contractors" will be on for the game, tan or green, and not have PMC's on both. Otherwise we'd have to introduce SOP to the war economy.

Before anybody heads down the PMC road, read this thread in its entirety: miairsoft.proboards.com/thread/48309/friendly-fire-incidentsIf you're talking about rec games, as long as your kit is either predominantly green or predominantly tan, you should be fine going on one team or the other. When you start doing green pants with a CB vest over a black polo, you're not going to look distinct enough and a) you'll get friendly fired and b) everybody will hate you for confusing them. IF you're talking about milsim games, that's going to depend on the scenario and uniform rules. I've run games where the green team is the mismatching team and they end up wearing stuff closer to PMC kits while the tan team is limited to full Multicam and desert MARPAT or whatever.

Thats actually why I brought it up, I'm putting together a kit that has more green colored gear to it than tan, the PC is in multicam and the pouches are goingq to be green. I thought it would be less confusing to wear green pants instead, at least at rec games. I do have a set of multicam to wear at bigger events.

@ Novak, actually one of the previous Blind Fury events down in OH, had contractors with khaki pants and an OD top on the green side. So it has been done before, it's just not very common.
And how it basically worked was players wearing khaki/black contractor loadouts were on tan, and players wearing khaki/OD contractor loadouts were on green. Ultimately this was done because at the previous event, there was a 3rd team that were contractors that played on both sides depending on the objectives and if either tan or green had completed objectives to contract them, but it caused a lot of confusion because you never knew if they were with you or against you so basically everyone ignored any sort of rules of engagement that came from their chain of command shot the contractors on sight. It was the worst for the players on the contractor team because they weren't role player, but paying players. So for the next game, they just added another contractor team so that were dedicated contractors to each side to eliminate confusion.
