I am using White lithium grease on the gears of my AEG. I was told not to use it on the piston head which I am not. But I was also told to use a thin layer of the grease on the main spring but that will touch the piston. But will the grease weaken/break the piston itself because it will melt the polycarbonate piston?

I always stick to just pure silicon lube/grease all throughout the box. No need to worry about anything going wrong, or being eaten away by some unknown compound in "lube X" being in a place that should have "lube y". Personally, I have always just use Di-electric grease. Easy to find ANYWHERE, and cheap too.

I personally use white lithium grease on all of the gears and on the piston teeth strip. then i use dielectric grease on all of the airseal components. I have a thread posted about my high speed gearbox build and it shows no signs of any of this "wear" or "eating" of the piston or airseal components from doing it that way. just my 2 cents
