Hey guys. I used to belong to this forum but havnt been on in a long time and it appears my old.profile was deleted. But back on subject. Im looking for an assault rifle. I love the feel of M4 like guns. Im currently looking at a kwa sr10 g&p m4 and a vfc m4 What im looking for in these guns are mid range accuracy and durability. Im playing in a lot of.lightly wooded areas. So many shots are 100' plus. My budget is around $300. If anyone owned any of these guns some input would be nice. Also if anyone has any other suggestions for a good and accurate mid range gun would be very helpful. Thanks

I've owned all three (well, my kwa was just a standard m4) and out of the three I've been the happiest with G&P.
While I didn't have any issues with the internals of my VFC ( many users aren't too fond of their internals) I preferred the feel and performance of my G&Ps.
With your budget, I would highly recommend looking in to the G&P line, there are lot of brand new models you can pick up, and a bunch of well cared for used ones that fall well within you price range.
Are there any particular questions you have on any of these?

THe G&P was the one I was thinking. What kind of range should I be expecting? And if some of the internals go out lets say I want to put in a new sytema gear box... how easy would the instalment be?

My G&Ps have all preformed very good on stock range, not great, but very useable. A good bucking and 6.03 barrel along with tuning of the hop up has given me 200ft effective range. Internals are as easy as your comfort level of tech work. If you're comfortable with working in a gearbox, it's an easy job.

I'll second the G&P. Mine is a beast. I am putting down 27 rounds per second with hardly any go fast bits installed.

I'll "third" the G&P option.
Excellent externals coupled with decent, TM compatible internals.
I have owned four over the course of several years, and the one thing I've seen in three of them was sub-par range. The hop-up units in three out of my four G&Ps were basically non-functional out of the box.
To remedy this, I've just gone ahead and replaced the stock unit with a Prowin unit and then used new buckings and nubs, but if you tweak the stock unit and add a new bucking/nub combination you should see better than stock results.
You should also keep in mind that G&P externals differ depending on where you purchase your rifle. If you buy a stock G&P M4A1 in the US from, for example, Evike, you'll be getting a solid black receiver. If you buy a stock G&P M4A1 from an Asian retailer you'll be getting a dark grey receiver. Personally, I find the dark grey receiver to be more realistic, but this is a matter of taste and preference. The Asian models also have realistic trades, while the US models have a G&P trademark.
I have owned two "US" receiver G&Ps and two "Asian" receiver G&Ps, and while they look slightly different they all perform about the same out of the box.

OK again thanks for the advice I'll have to get some customization done

That is a great price for that model, but you should be aware that it isn't your standard M4. Firstly, it uses the older M16A1 style receiver with the non-removable carry handle. Secondly, it it set-up to use 9mm style magazines which differ significantly from standard M4 magazines. Airsoft Extreme has the 9mm magazines on sale for $15 a piece, which is actually a great price. Standard M4 magazines, however, are cheaper per magazine. For example, you can buy 8 MAG-brand mid-capacity magazines for less than $60, while it would take $120 to buy the same number of 9mm magazines. M4 magazines are also a whole lot easier to find than 9mm magazines. You might want to look into whether or not the 9mm adapter on the AEX rifle can be removed. If you can pull it out and just use regular M4 magazines then that would be a great price for that rifle. In fact... I'm pretty tempted...

What kind of battery should i be using in this? The website doesnt specify... Most G&Ps come wired to deans now. I recommend using a good 7.4v lipo, but it will run just fine with a 9.6v.

Nope that's a small type tamiya. If you have access to a RC store you can buy deans connectors dirt cheap.
