Hello guys, I just purchased a new gun, only to find out I am over chronoing for most field matches(About 430ish) I have a lancer tactical as seen here www.evike.com/product_info.php?products_id=37789 and I am looking to downgrade the spring while still maintaining as much power as possible. As I am still a noob to the AEG scene, the thought of ripping open my new gun to change the spring scares me a good bit.. So, I am looking for suggestions on a new spring(Still wanna be sitting in the high 360-400fps range) and some advice on going about changing the spring myself, or anywhere I can go (Live in downriver michigan) to have someone do it for me, which I would actually prefer. Thanks!

I believe Spy-Ops would be the closest place to you, that would install it. They are in Southfield. I'm sure someone lives downriver that would personally install it for you, for a small fee or for free, but if you want it done at a business Spy-Ops would be your closest place. Edit: It looks like Exotic Sportz does tech work too, they are in Taylor on Eureka. I've never heard of anyone I know having them work on their guns, so I don't know their quality of work.

Any recommendation on what spring I should get for the gun mentioned?

You can always wear it in. If you haven't used it that much then the spring will wear down a bit after use and become less stiff (varies per brand, but you can sometimes see around ~10fps from new after breaking it in). You can also leave it semi compressed (piston fully cycled back to where you can't see the spring because the piston's at it's 2nd farthest point back before resetting). This typically isn't recommended, simply because there's always the chance leaving it "compressed" for too long can break a piston tooth (on fully poly pistons, but most have metal front teeth, so that should be fine) or a gear tooth. But if you're set on having the spring changed, I usually prefer Guarder or PDI. Heard good things about Prometheus springs, but I haven't personally had any experience with them (My teammate just installed a Promy M120, so I'll see how that treats him). I have had the most luck with them personally. I wouldn't recommend Systema, they tend to fluxuate a lot after being broken in.
An M120 or equivelant (depends on brand) should put you around the 390-410 area.
Unless you have worked on guns before (doesn't sound like it) and this is your only working/primary gun. I wouldn't advise opening it up since you have to deal with timing and all that. Most people mess it up the first time and without a backup gun, it sucks to be down your only gun and not have a working one.
