I just spoke with the owner of TCP's Traverse City branch who has been trying to promote airsoft in northwest Michigan for a couple years now. He informed me that this year he will be hosting weekly rec games at the TCP field in Copemish. Information on the field is here: www.tcpaintball.com/traversecity/fieldlocation.htm. Currently no dates are set in stone but he assures me they will be once spring is closer. Their store recently relocated about a mile south of their previous location in Chum's Corners. Currently they carry a decent lineup of G&Gs including M4 combat machines, MP5s, and UMGs. He said that they will also be carrying more brands and models this spring. He speculated that he may eventually also host games more than once a week, do airsoft repairs, gun rentals, and the possibility of opening another 2 acer field closer to TC. For anyone in northwest Michigan, I'll be posting any further updates I get about TC:TCP on MichNAA michnaaproboards.com/. [edit]: I got confirmation that the TCP games won't start until local grade schools wraps up for summer break, so around May.

Awesome.
They have a few G&G Combat Machines of various flavors at the store as well as some sniper rifles and tri-shots.
Fairly limited selection, but worth poking your head in just to let them see some interest.
Cats, we should try to set up some TC area meet-up to get airsofters together. Maybe a swap-meet type thing like the other MiA folks did down state.

Sounds like a good idea Gimpalong. Maybe plan something for after the first or second TCP game to give the expected new local players a place to meet up, talk guns/gear, and gain some general experience about the larger airsoft community.
It would be a good idea to keep in touch with his players. I'll definitely be going to a few or more games just to try and get people to join the online community. I don't have much experience to share so I'm glad to see you're interested in this.
He expressed that he's mainly interested in getting new players in the area playing and build his own sort of community from the ground up; rather than working into the MiA or other airsoft communities.
My team may also be losing our largest field this summer, so we may look into this as an alternative to playing on our smaller fields.

A swap meet would be awesome.
I'd also like to try to get all of us together just to meet and maybe do some small throw-together games. At this point, I'd be happy with 3 on 3 or more.. Even 2 on 2 with a nice area I have nothing else to say
Should we start a contact list? Mass text?

PM sent Gimp.
I think i still have your number Deputy, assuming it hasn't changed since December of 2010.
Some of Doom's guys should be available for manual labor or whatever we can do to help set stuff up in any surrounding counties.

I just read this in the TCP weekly newsletter: "We are now open for Air Soft play at the Store Location. Sundays from Noon-3pm Entry is only $15" TC now has a two acre airsoft arena for three hours a week. Too bad I won't be able to make it there for a month.
[Edit] Maybe we should start talking about that swap-meet idea now; assuming this will help us contact players in the region.

I live down near Cadillac. This seems like a good deal since we all know how long the drive can be down state. Now we just need to get some nor-mich mil-sims going.

I just got out to one of these games today. The field is set up like a paintball/speedball field but with five small killhouse style structures. Not sure how good it would be with more than 4v4 or 5v5, because of how small it is.
The only rules right now are full seal goggles if your over 18, paintball mask if your under 18, you must fill out a safety waiver, there is a "surrender" rule within 20ft of a player if you get the drop on them, mags out of gun and on saftey when outside the paintball netting, no dry-fires outside the net, all pyrotechnics must be approved before play, goggles on when inside the net, and some normal common decency stuff. They work on a warning system; break a rule you get a warning, break a second rule your gone for the day. If it's a serious offense or repeated frequently, then you could be banned from the field.
There we're no active refs when we played, and all the players just came to a general concenses about how we we're going to play before we started.
Overall me and my teammate both had a ton of fun. Everyone else seemed to have a good time too. I plan to keep attending here and hopefully bring more of my team out next time. If anyone else plans to go here let me know before hand and I'll try to join you.

I definitely had fun as I always do when playing with Cats and his group. Had someone awesome 2v3's and 2v2's all day. I would love to stuff 4v4 in there. Video will be coming as soon as I finish editing.

Speaking to the owner of TCP again today and he brought back the idea of games at the 50-60acre Copemish field again. He says next summer, in addition to his weekly games, he wants to host 20+ person events once a month.
