Anybody have or know where I can find an exploded diagram of the KSC G18/17/34 magazines? I'm looking for the partnumbers, specifically, so if anyone has a list, that'd work fine as well. If anyone would like the G18 breakdown diagram, I have it and could easily post it up here.

I bought a KSC G18 and a standard mag that was busted (I knew it was busted when I bought it and got a great deal) so I just needed to know the part number to order from WTS Mike. Should be all fixed by this weekend and both G18c's will have metal slides, metal barrels, and enhanced guide rods/springs. The busted standard mag just had one of the feed lips broken off and the part was something like 13 bucks, so when it's fixed it'll put my magazine count up to 4 standards and 3 hi-caps.

interesting. you ever get that Mag leaking when you put it in the gun problem? heh
when i put the 49 round mag in gas starts coming out through the front. im letting it warm up right now, ill see again in a couple minutes
edit: yep, gas still leaks. this is the hicap btw if that makes a diff.

Well, I haven't, but Snip blew the valve (The thing on the back of the mag near the top) on one of his mags and it did the same thing. It'll cost you about $20 to fix, I think, you just unscrew the valve from the back of the mage and screw a new one in. And if that sounds too hard to do, I'll buy the busted one from you for $20, which is almost half the cost of a new one from www.airsoftmarine.net

Do you have a valve tool though? It's odd that the valve is leaking on you. How long did you fill that thing for? The gas type shouldn't be a problem, as I use green gas in my mags.

You're only having the problem with the hicap mag bong? My experience with the 49 round mag is that the valve just sticks out more for no apparent reason. I get the same problem of escaping gas sometimes when inserting the mag into my G19 and G26C, as the valve sticks out a hair too far. This is only a split second problem though, and doesn't continue once the mag is fully seated in the gun.
Check the valve as Jacko suggested, make sure it's screwed in all the way and isn't loose and catching on something when being inserted. You can tighten it with a screwdriver or needle nose pliers inserted into the notches on the rear of the valve, or ideally a valve key. Be careful though since the valve is very soft metal (brass I think), and deforms easily. Also, try cocking the slide back once (with the selector switch OFF safety) before you insert the mag, so that the hammer is locked back. This should relieve any pressure that might be causing the internal firing pin to stick out and catch the magazine valve. I'm guessing your upgraded G18C has a stronger hammer spring, so that might be making the firing pin stick out more than normal.
A little tip if you plan to keep your gun for a long time, or ever want to get more guns....invest in a valve key. It makes cleaning and maintaining valves a cinch, and is a good tool to have around for service, upgrades, and troubleshooting. I own the Guarder KSC/WA valve key, and it really comes in handy.

Excellent advice. I didn't even think of that. Snip's gun has an upgraded hammer spring and his mags seem to 'spurt' like this when he pulls the trigger the first time after he puts a fresh mag in. Though, (And this happened yesterday) I kept telling him to put the selector switch on semi instead of full auto and that solved the problem, I think.

edit: WOW.. i cocked back the hammer before, and i only heard a little sss and then it stopped. seems like it works, thanks. And then i proceeded to unleash full auto on my pillow. that is CRAZY....... this is such a sweet gun ha-ha

Bah, G26C > G18C
You can't beat the concealability of the lil ThunderPalm compared to the full size G18. Next time we play Jacko, let's see which gun can dump a 49 round mag fastest. Your metal slides will be your weakness, mwahaha. ;D
