I'm sure that there's a lot of things to say about this event, and I have a lot to say as well, but a few quick things to address right away:
1. I lent someone my jacket during the briefing speech. Never saw it again. Probably shouldn't have brought it at all... whoever's got it, send me a line, I pay ransoms.
2. I loaned two pmags to Joe to compliment his single Pmag midcap. When he returned them, I got one of mine and his - and his is a better manufacture. So let's get them back in the right hands - or you were going to buy my other two anyway, either situation is fine.

I would like to start off by saying thank you to ATS, Hellfish, and everyone who braved the very cold morning to come out and play.
As someone who hosts events, I know how time consuming and difficult it can be to plan and execute an event, and I think all parties involved did a great job.
Game play was very smooth, for 90% of the day I think there was no shortage of action, it wasn't until the very end that things seemed to die out (which is pretty typical, so in no way was it the fault of the hosts)
The objectives were well thought out, and required some serious effort.
Green Team: What can I say other than you guys and gals kicked some serious ass.
Tan Team: I swear that you had a never ending stream of players attacking the embassy. Every time we thought we had you cleared out, another group would pop up and put the pressure back on.
I was able to meet and run with some players that I hadn't had the chance to before, and the talent pool of new players attending MiA events is pretty amazing.
Yo-Yo Pete: Glad I got to hang out with you a bit longer than the last event, you're a cool dude and a hell of a shot.
GBiz: Get in your corner!
RFA: You guys are monsters on the field, always good to play with or against you.
ODA561: You sneaky bastards...nuff said.
Bones: It was fun as hell watching you move across that field.
Casper: Thank you for the best airsoft story I have heard in a very long time.
ATS: Thadius was a an INCREDIBLY gracious host, who came out and talked to every single player both at lunch and after the game to check and see how things were going. Thank you for everything, and I look forward to playing at your field again soon.
As with any event, things can't be perfect, so here are two things I feel should be mentioned:
A group was attacking the embassy from the field using the bulldozer for cover. Three of the four player were hit with dead rags on their heads. When a group of green players walked up to check things out, one of the tan players with a kill rag still on his head opened fire, shooting one of the green players in the face from probably 15ft away. His reason was that the 4th member of their group was a medic, and had healed him, so it was ok to open fire, even though he was still wearing his kill rag. If you're dead, you don't shoot, if you're alive, you shouldn't be standing there a with kill rag on your head waiting for people to walk up on you.
Being part of a team, I understand you may have a different way you communicate with your fellow team members. You may yell or curse at each other, but that is part of how you work together as a team. Please keep in mind when you're playing with other player who are not part of your group or team, that speaking to them in the same manner that you would a team may cause some issues. I know when we are out playing everyone wants to win, but this isn't real life or death. Screaming at someone (who is on your team no less) because you don't think they are doing enough, or because you think they are ignoring you orders, doesn't accomplish anything other than making you look like a dick.

I hope you aren't referring to me, I tried to keep it PG-13 as much as possible haha. As CO of the green team I have to say I was extremely impressed. I had a lot of players that I had never met before on the team and was told that quite a few were new to airsoft. Everyone kicked ass. As defenders I did feel a twinge of guilt because the field creates sort of a natural coke-point at the village outside the embassy, once we controlled the embassy it was extremely difficult for tan to break through to any other objectives, but hey, my orders were to defend and defend we did. Tan if only you guys knew how close you were to breaking us at the embassy two or three times. Comm's were great on Green's end. Squad leaders did some serious work and kept their players organized and engaged. I hope I spread the action out enough, its difficult when defending but I did my best. I saw no issues with anyone calling hits or screaming back and forth. Everyone adhered to the don't be a dick rule pretty well. I did see some respawn issues on my team. People were getting lazy and not making their way back to respawn, I was sure to tell them to un-fuck themselves and not cheat. Other than that, it was a great day of airsoft. And Knief... I have a duck sack for you.

The players that showed up during the game made our jobs as refs and organizers pretty easy.
Great sportsmanship all around and for the most part everyone came there to have fun and do the same thing that we are all addicted to and that is to play airsoft.
Thadius is certainly open to making it better for everyone so if you have any suggestions, feel free to voice it out. He had already shared his idea of creating a few more foot bridges to cross the river on multiple points to remove the bottle neck effect at the main bridge.
Post photos and videos if you've got them.

I had a really great time. It was my second ever airsoft event (and as most of you know my first was cut short) so it was good to play the whole day. I had a great time and played a ton of different roles which made it even more fun. Thanks to Hellfish for all the work they put into it and Thadius for hosting it. And to everyone who came out and made the event a good time. I cant wait for the next one. The most requested thing I saw was a "Pen" so everyone remember to throw one into your kit.

Had a great time, Hellfish always do a great job.
Casper, Bones - so glad you guys were on my squad. People underestimate the benefit of having a good support gunner on their squad. Casper is a madman with that M-60. Noah defected from Alpha squad to run with the high speed boys...it's ok, I still love you. Hope your grill is ok from that tooth shot you took early in the game.
As I suspected that bridge was going to be a choke point. It did help that we had a rock crossing furthur south to deploy troops on that side of the field. Few people, with the exception of King and Knife, were brave enough to get their feet wet to cross at other places. This field is easier to play when there is more vegetation to mask your movements.
Wish our comms were a bit better on tan. Did not receive many orders other than attack the embassy, then we heard it was wired to blow and back off. No other orders made it to us. What were those poster boards with the numbers on them? Never heard a thing about those.
Thanks again Hellfish & ATS.

Oh.. for pics, we should get a couple cameras into the Refs hands in these events as they are watching and not worrying about getting shot. If I had a camera I'd bring it (but I dont). And maybe doing a big group pic in the beginning would be cool too.

First of all I want to say thank you to the ATS field and HellFish team for this event. This was my first real MilSim event and all I can say is I'm looking forward for more. I want to say thank you to the US Team Bravo squad. You guys rocked, and will roll with you guys anytime.

I have a few pics from when I stopped playing after falling onto the river. I'll post them up tonight. Unfortunately no underwater helmet cam footage. Forgot my helmet at home.
Good job on the radios green team. Our communication was good and not much VOX/Call button nonsense.
Sent from my DROID RAZR using proboards

I had a great time at OP: SoT II - after I got moving around and warmed up a bit. Thanks Hellfish, ATS and everyone else who made this game possible. Smooth as always, great objectives, great field!
Green team had excellent comms and worked effectively getting almost every single objective completed very quickly. We held the embassy down rock solid, although there were several times where Tan could have easily stormed us from the back and taken it very easily as I realized there was literally no one watching behind us for OpFor.
G-Biz: You're the perfectly annoying hostage, I enjoyed babysitting you. It seems like whenever Pagan or I weren't watching you after Brian brought you to the embassy, everyone else just kinda lost you...you sneaky bastard. Problem? Yeah...making me run through a huge ass mud puddle to get your escaping ass! <3
I already got the video uploaded off my Go-Pro to my comp, I just need to do some editing and I can upload it. I will attempt to do this ASAP although I may have some trouble considering I still haven't finished doing my footage from Irene from last month >_<

You've got my jacket? You punk!
It's ΩΦΕΛΟΥΝΕΣ ΑΝΘΡΩΠΟΥΣ (which I did have to copy-paste since I don't have a Greek keyboard installed), translated to Service to Humanity. That's the crest of the Acacia Fraternity, and I am a member of it. I'll drive out there right after dinner and pick it up.
