I recently purchased the JG MP5 SD5 and, as many have said, it is not ready for field use. Obviously, understandable, as it is a JG. Now, I'm not really interested in putting a tightbore barrel in it yet, range, accuracy, and FPS is decent enough for the present. I'll probably put one in some other time.
I've done some work with AEG's so the labor is no problem. What I need to know is what is most important? Bushings? Piston? Cylinder? Any advice? Also, I've got down external upgrades down, but I would also want to know what else you recomend on that account.

No 1 part is going to be the most important. All the parts are fairly important to keep the gun running. If you like the range, accuracy, and fps then internally there shouldn't be much you need to change.

Tightbore will be all you need, after that, a good hop up rubber.

Tightbore will be all you need, after that, a good hop up rubber. So the internals on the JG are good enough? You see I'm not attempting to increase the performance, just the durability. As far as I know, JG's will last a 1-2 seasons before wearing down, especially since it's a V2 and not a V3. And I know, Alex, that no 1 part is most important, but I was just asking what you would recomend putting in before, say, a tightbore barrel.

Well, no, they're pretty crappy. However, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

TBB and rhop are the two best things you can do for accuracy. As far as inside the gearbox, reshim it, regrease it, and correct the AOE.

I've played airsoft for a few years, but only recently have I been getting into the internals. I can maneauver around well enough, but I'm still learning.

AOE = Angle of Engagement (?)
Basically, where your sector gear mesh with your piston. Correct AOE is when then sector gear is perpendicular to the first tooth of the piston, with the second tooth shaved down and third partially.
