Awesome AO, Awesome battles, and Awesome people. I had an amazing time this weekend. Thank you MIA/ Green team for giving me the largest positive KDR ive ever had LMAO . I was on the Tan team for this one but had the best time playing against all you guys. I can't say one bad thing about the green team. Absolutely no cheating from what i encountered the entire weekend. I was mostly stuck in the buildings all day and the one time I went outside I was quickly greeted by that damn razor of yours. Not sure how but I escaped certain death my diving behind a rusty old 55 gallon drum in the middle of an open field (I would of been screwed if you stopped and turned towards me) But my platoon was in bad shape after that strafe run. It was also great seeing old faces, meeting new ones, and talking shit at the campsite Saturday night around the fire. Not to mention hearing all the giggling from campers after some mods started body slamming each other in the middle of the night. I had a great time and cant wait for the next one. Maybe next time Ill try and fight on your side ( maybe) I have nothing else to say!

For the record I wasn't commenting on his skill, but rather his attitude in general.
I got the feeling like he didn't really care about the simulation aspect of the game at all. At one point I said we can take up positions in a tower near the airfield to watch for enemies trying to take the airfield as this was our objective to hold it. His response was "I came here to shoot people not to sight see."
After this we proceeded to move out towards the action. He told us to assume a wedge formation and we did. Our medic later broke formation to go and heal a wounded teammate. Despite no one being around he was visibly/vocally pissed off about it.

Knief, That is a bad-a... Photo !
I too was a bit let down. It felt like we just never really knew what we needed to be doing. Lucky for me my squad was always eager and driven to the action so there was never a dull moment.

Oh yes... I’m going to preface this by saying that I hardly EVER write out a review after a game, since no matter whether the game itself ‘Good’ or ‘Bad’ when I reflect back on things after getting home I realize it was just another day of having fun with some of my closest friends. Unfortunately, this weekend I was left with the same look of confusion that Borat had on his face when he found out his new friends he picked up at the pride parade had that rubber fist with them for all the wrong reasons. From the second we went up and registered with the nice ladies at the registration tent, I had a feeling that things were a bit off. After hearing how tight of a ship John Lu runs, I was surprised when we weren’t prompted for ID or any sort of identification upon registration aside from stating our name. I even heard some guys say they didn’t have to register whatsoever and just played the entire weekend without checking in. With hindsight being 20/20, this was just the first bit of disorganization that plagued the weekend. The part I enjoyed the most on Friday was the walkthrough we all did together. The fact that we were able to walk it with buddies and take some cool pictures of all the amazingly huge buildings, and crack jokes about how we’d point and laugh when the first dumbass fell off a rickety 2nd story catwalk and broke his legs just made the experience that much more enjoyable. Throughout the daytime missions on Saturday, things seemed to be hit or miss as the Green team completely burned through the objectives we were given in no time at all. After we accomplished them, I didn’t receive any additional objectives down the line and after talking personally with the higher ups, neither did they. Call me crazy, but to plan a 3-4 hour ‘Mission’ after a single objective is completely asinine in my opinion. The lack of objectives made it so most of our guys were simply standing around or just shuffling through buildings or the fields for the remaining couple hours of the mission exchanging rounds with the enemy. That's not to say we didn't have fun doing so, but it would have been nice to have a purpose for all that fighting. Afterwards, I did hear about a miniature FRAGO that was issued to our guys with a whopping 20 minutes left in the mission. Luckily the Pryka’s and SK’s vehicle of doom were able to take out that completely awesome Hardlock and complete the FRAGO thus securing the deuce and half for our team to use for the second half of the day. The Saturday night missions were the complete low point of the weekend for me and pretty was the straw the broke the camel’s back in my decision to not play Sunday morning. Given that approximately 80%-90% of the players that were there in the morning did not participate in the ‘’Night Op’’ (In quotations since the mission started and ended before the sun had even set ) we were down to about 30-35 players on each team with the whole AO to ourselves. The game staff then decided that it would be a great idea to first make the one and only objective at the ‘Airfield’ yet again, as well as decommission the deuce and a half that had been ferrying players out there for the entire day. In addition to that, they had also told both teams that vehicles would not be allowed whatsoever. No sooner than 10 minutes later, we hear the humming of the Hardlock coming down the road towards us. W-T-F! After waiting for that thing to drive away and moving onto the center of the open pit area, we decided that instead of pursuing a handful of tan guys at the top of the 3 story structure, we’d gather up to have a good ol’ fashioned ‘Civil War Rematch of 2012’. After the dust settled, the South won. Those 30 minutes were definitely the most enjoyable part of that mission, and probably one of the best moments of the entire day given how poorly organized the game was and how much chaos was occurring. The best part of the rematch was, that not only were approximately 6-8 admins watching us do it, Greg even gave us some MilSim Civil War advice by suggesting we feed our BB’s from the muzzle to truly re-create the inaccurate civil war era rifles. Many good men died that night and not a single slave was freed. After skipping Sunday morning’s mission and coming back and asking a few players if they were enjoying themselves, the first thing that they mentioned to me was how their one objective was out at the Airfield yet again. So for those who lost count, that makes 4 out of 4 Missions where the main objective was something involving the Airfield on the most desolate part of the AO. Upon hearing this, I had nothing left to do but laugh as I find it hilarious that none of the HUUUGE buildings that occupied 60% of the AO weren’t used a single time. Also, hearing about the fist fight that a handful of the staff got into was pretty much the icing on the cake of disorganization for the weekend…I have nothing else to say. All in all, the experience was a lot of fun only because I got to spend some time with some of my closest buddies and shoot the breeze for the majority of the weekend. As for the game itself, it pretty much felt like we shelled out $160 for what felt like a disorganized rec game that happened to be held at a truly remarkable AO. This event really confirmed the bad decision I knew I had made by not attending Op. Pine Plains as I usually do this time of year. But as I mentioned earlier, it’s always a lot of fun to see everyone at one game all together and play with everyone as well. Although the game was disorganized, it was all the MiA players we have here in Michigan that made the experience fun. It was a blast hanging out with everyone and shooting the breeze. I heard from Gunny that the demolition of this place may be delayed for a bit and it would be absolutely awesome if we could finagle this site again for another event. It would be great to utilize all those buildings we missed out on using. Got Mullen @ 16:16-16:24 mark.

I had the opportunity to play with Keni Thomas on Saturday when we were assaulting building 21 to extract an HVT, and I admire that he wanted to be in the middle of the action and be the first in the building. I actually volunteered to go in first and "sacrifice" myself which I did, but it was fun to have the chance to stack up and work with him.
We can't forget that this was his first time commanding in an airsoft game, vs Mullens who has like 11 years experience of doing this. So he definitely wasn't experienced in doing this before. And as we know, airsoft is 150x different than real life engagements.
Was the communication shoddy at some points. Oh it was. And as a CO I would have done things different based on my experience. But again his willingness to be in the middle of a heated battle leading with his players instead of sitting back and just giving orders is admirable.

I have to agree with cqbr on most points. Although you were misinformed regarding Sunday's game. The primary objective was to capture the VIP who was held up in building 13 (devil building). The Airfield was a secondary objective.
The night game on Saturday was a total failure. You were a little off on the numbers there was about 20 of us and about 60 of them. Otherwise you are spot on. I actually got into an argument with the ref about how fucked up the whole situation was and he threatened to throw me out of the game. Basically we were outnumbered 3 to 1,we were told that we were not allowed inside of buildings to take cover, and we were not allowed vehicles. Obviously Tan had their Hardlock so we were stuck in the open, outnumbered and severely outgunned. Eventually I just said to hell with it and went inside the trailer near our spawn and shot the shit out of a bunch of Tan guys from within that building. Later the ref told me that it's OK to go in small buildings (wtf?) such as that trailer. He also told me that the refs had to break up a fist fight between our CO and some other guy.

I have to agree with what some of you have been saying about organization. As a milsim, meh. Could have been a lot better. But as an overall experience, I had a complete blast.

It was worth every penny just in the time spent slinging plastic alongside MIA. I think it was a once in a lifetime experience. I doubt we will ever get that many of our guys together in one game, on one side, and at that epic of an AO.

RE: "Night Game"
Upon seeing the Hardlock, I approached a ref to ask if we could hand throw the AT munitions (Zander had some in his BDU pockets) that we had at it in order to "kill" it seeing as how we lacked any of our AT launchers. The ref was like "ha, yeah, sure, whatever."
Things went to shit when Zander did hit the Hardlock and the driver refused to die, telling us that the ref's decision that we could hand throw our munitions was "not his problem."
After approaching another ref to seek clarification and have him "educate" the driver, much prevarication, radio calling and bullshit ensued and nothing was done.
Rest of the game was awesome due to the MiA community.
We should camp at every game! Because... as we all know "airsoft: serious business."

Yeah, problem with that for 3-3 (Alex, Tank, Deathdealer) can't swing it for various reasons (Newborn child, Wife, and $). I'm moving into my house around that time also, so I will be broke too.

We spent the whole time pushing up the river bank, a foot from falling in the water, got near the airfield just to be pinned down in a very convenient foxhole. We kept yelling back to some green that we seen standing a ways back, and couldn't figure out why we couldn't get them to advance. I know the night op was bullshit the way it stacked up, but I still think that if we pushed we could have put some serious hurt on them. Edit: Afterwards, tan asked us what we thought we were going to accomplish and I basically gave them the never give up, never surrender answer. I told them that we wanted to see just how much damage our small squad could do to their numbers. Honestly, we had them pretty distracted and drew a number of them down to the river and away from the airfield.
