Ok here is a more proper AAR post,
To be completely blunt and honest, the event was spectacular. At first I felt a little cheated because of the lack of objective-driven gameplay, but then I thought, "Hey, I am probably having more fun focusing in on shooting people in this awesome AO than doing dumb objectives." The AO is what made the game for me. Nothing beats infiltrating a Tan-occupied rusted out building then being ex-filtrated by some dude on an ATV to another building and repeating the same thing over again.
For the most part, I had only a few bad encounters with some Tan players. Most of the issues were so small that it shouldn't even be brought up. But, MIA and all the green players were some of the most friendly, understanding and just generally nice guys out there. I saw several times when MIA guys showed some great sportsmanship out there while I saw other Tan dude being complete dicks. Perhaps I am biased ;D. But, really, it was not a big problem at all and definitely did not detract from the experience.
The AO was fucking amazing. I doubt I will ever play on a field like this again. The danger factor definitely added an important dynamic in the game. It seemed most times I was more afraid of a rusty piece of scrap metal or a 35 foot drop than the enemy. I can't say I have ever felt this way in an airsoft game before. Transitioning to completely different types of terrain, cover and building heightened my awareness, adrenaline and the amount of fun I had. I am praying that John Lu finds something else like this in Michigan because more people need to experience what I experienced this weekend.
Vehicle play added a much needed addition to the game. ATV's, the Polaris and the Duece's seemed to always be in the right place and the right time. I actually had the most fun getting the fuck out of the way of that damned Tan Tank with the mini-gun. I hope MIA event hosts take note of how much fun it is to have vehicles out in the field. CT-Man, you're a cool ass dude for staying in that Polaris all day - I cannot thank you enough for what you did this weekend (no-homosexual vibes). JD, I am almost positive you had more fun driving that ATV than shooting dudes - thanks for the ride.
Every firefight I got in to was one to remember and my Contour footage will confirm this. With glass breaking, dust encircling, doors slamming and bb's flying my body was under constant stress. With such an enormous AO, engaging the enemy required flanking and moving with determination. Tan Team was actually quite a formidable enemy and so many times we took areas but lost them a little later. I had the most fun busting doors open and clearing the smaller buildings. The only way I found to be successful was rolling with a group of dudes. The AO demanded teamplay. I felt a true Mil-Sim experience and I attribute this to the AO.
John Lu is a cool ass dude. I heard people bash him in the past, but I have nothing but good to say about him. He is completely personable, has no ego and seems to really care about his events. Gregbrothers did exactly what he needed to do: be strict and to the point. Thanks John and Gregbrothers for bringing something so amazing to our state.
Team MIA, you guys rock. Everyone was helpful, encouraged and it never seemed like I couldn't trust the guy next to me in a firefight. We were flanking, moving and not being typical "rec-game" trash. Kurt14D, I didn't talk with you much, but you and your buddy are cool ass dudes and I saw you guys get into some pretty badass engagements. Suicide Kings, you guys can play and really brought out your best at this game - Zulu, Pagan, CT, Gunny, Gorem, I give you all a thumbs up. ODA 561, I always have more fun when I am rolling alongside you guys. GB we shared a great experience together and I hope our ambushes go better in the future. Timm, you're loud and crazy and that's the best thing about you. JD, albeit his reputation, sometimes offers a generous ride and chair to a fellow airsofter. Legionnaire , glad to finally meet you and I had a fun time creeping around with you. Tex, I love rolling with you and fuck you for being a lucky bastard. Pyrka boys , my friend Correy had a great time rolling with you guys. Rel, you were excellent on the comms and did a great job giving us intel. I am leaving out a ton of quality dudes, but there were just so many good times had that I can't name everyone.
Amped Airsoft and Crazy Cromag's were some quality retailers. I was surprised at how competitive and friendly they were. They will get my business in the future.
I thank all of MIA and Op Lions Claws for hosting an event that cannot be forgotten. See you guys at Irene.

One thing I forgot to mention. Tex, Timm, Tiashi, and I ran into John Lu and Mullen at our hotel as we were packing up to leave. We mentioned to him that there should be some more LC events here in Michigan. Lu told us that he is looking for a large abandoned high school or shopping mall. So, if anyone knows of one or sees one. Be sure to email Mr. Lu.

It was going to be turned into a movie studio, but I think it fell through.

If he's serious about getting a mall, he need not look further. Summit Place in Pontiac is perfect. Those of you who have driven by it in the last few years know what I'm talking about. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Summit_Place_Mall

It was honestly a good time for me, and I'm definitely going to try to make it to more games in the future, like Irene. I had a different perspective than most of you since I spent most of my time observing, but here's a few things I see improving.
- For me personally, I wish I had been able to take a more active role in leadership. Since I was trying to get humvees going, it was a conflict of interest to juggle both the Army Reserve angle and playing the game.
- The appointed leadership should be actively leading and coordinating movements, and you shouldn't just hand it over in the middle of the game when you've been expected to fill the mantle. I heard more than a few complaints that certain individuals were riding the SK hobo wagon longer than they should have.
- I will agree about issues with communication regarding objectives and whatnot - we ended up using our humvee as an objective for Tan to capture the airway lights, but they never made it to us, and MSG Mullen later told me that he never knew where we were.
- QC'ing the Warning Order and other rules & regs - lots of little formatting errors here and there, and lots of questions that required clarification on the forums. A lot of it is copy and paste, but this is something I would gladly help out with to make sure that the final ruleset is good to go.

The northville psychiatric hospital has been abandoned for some time now, Small complex of buildings with one main hospital. Would be super creepy as well. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ApMDTalr6soMusic is garbage, but you get the idea of what it looks like.

This place has multiple complexes and buildings everywhere almost like little villages, not to mention the large hospital (that is supposed to be haunted). It also has some large wooded areas. detroitfunk.com/?tag=northville-psychiatric-center

To think of the scale of the games that could take place there is... is... unfathomable.
