Alright, first off I think this game was one of the better ops I've been to in a while. I didn't hear one complaint of hit-calling, and very little of overkills..
Tan team- For being outnumbered, I have to say, you guys sure gave us hell. Very well done on some of your pushes on our positions.
Green team- Amazing job everyone! All of you did an excellent job. Our communication wasn't the greatest, but we made it happen. On behalf of my guys, we had a great time! Always good to see old friends and meeting new people. And a special thanks to Canto and Hole in the Wall for having us!!
Hopefully I'll see everyone in a few weeks for Black Eagle!

I have to agree with Dingo. It was a great game! Tan team never once made it easy on us. Dingos it was nice rolling with you and your boys. It was a great time and had some sweet pushes with mongoose and moose. Great job. Timm it was Freakin awesome rolling with you! Can wait to do it again!! Maybe this lefty is not as bad you made him out to be... I'd team up with you any day bro! Canto thanks for a great op and awesome playing time. Wish we could have done a lot more of the objectives you have planned and talked about at the end but the weather cannot always be controlled. But can't wait till the next one!! Green team, dingo said it, nice job. One of the better great teams I have played with. Except the fact I got shot from you a couple of times because of the multicam and what not. All in all. Great op and can't wait for the next one!!

It sounds like this was a good event. I really wanted to go but I had family stuff to take care of.

I will agree with you guys, The game was very smooth and everyone played fair. The humidity killed me acouple times but thats only natural with an outdoor game in the 90's. Another amazing job at hosting Canto, You know I'll be attending more in the near future. I'm bringing my knee pads next time though, My legs and knees have softball sized bruises covering them.
Had an amazing time hands down, A big thanks to everyone who attended. Great job green team and charlie squad, Glad I got to meet everyone for the most part and I'm definatly looking forward to playing again.

Despite being grossly outnumbered, I had a good time. Not the best op I've been to, but not the worst.
Possibly some of the best sportsmanship out there this weekend, however. Multiple times I could have been shot at very close range, but the shooter held off because of his engagement limits. I didn't hear anyone complaining about people not calling their hits, and generally it was a pretty laid-back attitude throughout the day - even the tan dudes, despite being outnumbered and frustrated, didn't let anything get to them.
It was good to put some names to the newer faces, also - I know who to look out for next time I'm on the field!

I was on the tan team and despite being pretty heavily outnumbered relatively early I still had a good time. Canto did a good job of rolling with the reduced numbers and trying to give Tan some achievable objectives. I definitely had some good shootouts with Green and managed to take out my fair share, and died more than my share We were also able to introduce some new guys to the game and hopefully they'll have learned some valuable tips and come better prepared for the next game. Some highlights were Guts and Glory taking a dive into the creek first thing, then wandering around lost in the woods for several hours after being captured by Green and apparently having his ear cut off. There was a newbie that showed up in tennis shoes and lost both of them one after the other in the mire that is Bangor and was then walking around shoeless. I had a few good rushes at occupied buildings, some of which resulted in kills and a pretty epic one where I (running low on ammo) decided to make a suicide run and almost immediately slipped and sprawled in the middle of the trail...then got the shit shot out of me. I say this every time, Ops run way smoother when more people have radio's and kill rags. I heard from multiple people that they rushed up on a group of guys, half of which were dead without killrags and, being gentlemen, didn't want to spray everyone and ended up getting killed by the loan dude that was still alive. It really isn't that expensive to get a kill rag, it makes it easier for the enemy to know who is up and who is down, it prevents you from getting overshot...ARGH! Just buy a damn killrag! One other thing regarding gear. In this scenario there was an approved Contractor outfit uniform on the Tan Team. Half way through the game it got hot as shit so people were stripping off their tops to cool down. Which is fine, but if your undershirt is a black Underarmour, then from afar you look like a contractor! If you think that you're going to be losing your BDU top then you should plan your undershirt accordingly, that also means no woodland T-shirts on the tan team. In the grass at Bangor, no one can see your pants anyways, or they are so mudcovered that there is no original color. So, just try to think ahead. I have to also agree that this was one of the best Ops I've been to for sportsmanship, not once did I hear "call your damn hit". That was a real win in my book. As always, Canto's Ops are well worth the trip and the money.

Usually I start these threads, but considering I took off before the "break period", I didn't think it was right of me to start.
I'd like to go over the short time I was present though.
For a first time driving alone a long distance to a game, it was not as bad as the folks had feared for me. Learned that I can if drastic drive so far, but if the few local players end up holding games, I'd be more likely to attend them.
Despite arriving amongst a rain storm, the first few hours of waiting were not really a burden. Being that I attend games rarely, I value seeing old and new faces more than anything else. Got quite a lot of compliments/discussions about my Soviet loadout, hopefully I may have swayed more to the Worker's Paradise. ;D
Being that I had only been to Bangor once before in 2009, I was a bit worried about the terrain. Well, I sure did get a workout. I had never seen the creek before (flash fire 3 was spent climbing just one ravine multiple times to respawn and eventually just being camped in one area), and I was surprised at how shallow it was. Considering I was with no definitive squad, I simply just went for it, intending to motivate the rest of tan as we moved towards "securing" the village, while another group went for the first objective. After being trapped in a series of buildings with newcomers, and not being able to see/fire on any enemy, for almost half an hour/hour, I pretty much new the day was going to fall apart then. I carried on however, ending up trying to follow a few tans from time to time.
I really don't recall hearing about any other objective other than the first one. Didn't seem like anyone nearby had a clue either. Eventually I ended up in a heavy forested multi-sided ridge with between 2-3 other tans. We kept shifting "defensive positions" but never encountered anyone, save for mods.
So, we crept up through brush and saw a field of somewhat tall grass, and I somehow found a squad of multicam. Didn't manage to hit the first two, and ended up barreling through thorn brush to avoid being hit. Keeping low behind a fallen tree, I watch one of the contractors pretty much light up most of the enemy squad. Then the tans were either hit or took off. I remained around that tall grass field, and kept hearing voices. At one point, after several ambush positions failed to attract anything, I climbed up through the thorns and charged across the grass, firing where I thought the voices were. No response, but I had already fallen back.
Eventually I wandered off in pursuit of said supposed enemy. It appeared there was green forces in one village portion below the ridge I was on, and upon attempting to move down, I lost my footing yet again and slid down haphazardly. Canto was nearby, and I began chatting with him about my bad luck so far/getting my photo taken (in a disheveled state of course), putting my aks-74 on safety so it would discharge by accident. Multicam lads appear above, and shred my back/shoulders and got Canto as well. The lads clamored down and despite my bleed out time having already expired, wanted to pretend to cut my ear off, Canto taking a photo. Not exactly a proud moment, but oh well. Not captured though, I must point out.
I somehow lost the Soviet Kosynka I had been wearing as a face mask. No one seemed to see it around and everyone took off. I wandered about the ravine up and down several times, trying to keep my red kill rag on as I searched for it. I took of my web kit and set it down by a tree along with my rifle, and after about a half hour of searching, I had to give up.
Now, about most of my day wandering around. Well, my boots were pretty much full of water from the multiple crossing of the creek, and I was quite exhausted from the ravine climbing/sliding. I also ended up wading through multiple areas of muck. So, after losing my kill rag as well, I pretty much decided to try and head back to the original tan spawn and grab my veshmeshok, the head back to the car and figure out where to go from there. After wandering around through let more muck, creek beds, and thorn brush, I somehow ended up being spotted by who I assume was Timm and one of the mods (I apologize for not knowing the individual's name, I believe the girl that was with Canto). They beckoned me to the village tower and told me Canto wanted me now for the VIP role. Well, I was beyond serving the duty at the time, my boots almost lace less and myself not feeling delirious. Canto, I am truly sorry for blowing off my duty, but I simply had been disconnected from the event for so long I just wanted to get out of the field and let everyone get on with the fun. So, I walked off to continue finding my veshmeshok, believing it was still at the original tan spawn point, despite the warnings that the respawn point had been switched.
Upon arriving at the original spawn point, I found my veshmeshok not there. Now, I had to find the current tan spawn point. After dropping off my web kit and rifle up at the staging area, and having decided to try and avoid the main battle lines (having never respawned), I ended up going through truly some bizarre terrain. I ended up crossing the creek bed about 17 times, wading through upper thigh high muck, encountering a group of snakes (luckily busy wiggling in a mass), and quite a few other things I rather not say, due to the absurdity of it. Sometimes a tan would appear and I tried to follow their pointed hands, but I still took quite a long time to find the veshmeshok. When individuals offered to call out over the radio to the mods to escort me/assist me, I turned down their offers, since I did not want to cause further disruption of the event time frame.
After finding my rucksack, I let again went wandering off, trying to find my way off the field. Much more seemingly insane terrain and oddities were encountered. I ended up spooking a few tans from behind as they were trying to advance towards some enemy covered ravine. Having already encountered some greens a ravine behind them, I knew the area was going to get hot as well. The tans pointed out that the way out was across the ravines/village, and that it was a hot zone. They offered to help me get out of there/advised I try to raise my hands really high to avoid being shot.
I was going to have none of that, and told them to keep advancing, that I would find a way to get around it all. The ravine edge nearby was very steep (the tans didn't believe it was a smart ideal), but I managed to get down. Was called on upon by some greens/mods as I circumvented the village, but I managed to get out of the field finally.
At this point, I decided that I pretty much was spent for the day. My boots deposited sludge/water when I took them off, and I was pretty sure I was going to have a nightmare cleaning everything. People were starting to filter back to the staging area/car lot as I was preparing to leave. I was a bit saddened about leaving, but I was just tired of the messed up situations I kept having.
Did I have a good time? That is not exactly a question I can answer.
Canto, again I apologize for not being able to help out with objectives. I hope that I can get a chance to truly showcase my Soviet and/or East German impressions as a VIP at another game. If you end up able to hold games in Charlotte again, I would be glad to attend more games. I just don't believe I can attend a game properly at Bangor, simply because it is too easy for me to get detached from everything and end up lost and almost injuring myself multiple times. Smaller fields or perhaps cqb facilities would probably be better for me, if not a large field more flat/solid in terrain features.
Anyways, I'm glad that everyone else had a good time, and I thank the event hosts and staff for having me for the short time I was around.
Perhaps some day we'll have more proper communist forces load outs, I'd like to think so. Till then, I'll continue to collect my gear and wait for another opportunity to get out on the field. I can hold my head up high despite the misfortunes however, for as one Tovarish said to me yesterday in discussion,
"You definitely waded through more s*** than any NATO forces would/could have."
In the end, I have only one last thing to say in this post.
Sluzhu Sovet-skomu Soyuzu! URRAH!

Canto, always a pleasure seeing you.
It felt soooo damn good to get out in the field again. Being in the military is fun and whatnot, but it sucks being away from MiA. I loved getting to sling plastic with the community again. Looking forward to playing again with ya'll after deployment later this year.
Tan team, For those who stayed thanks for showing great sportsmanship. I never heard shouts of angst from your sides. You all were very professional. When we did have fire fights you made it tougher to advance at times, and I especially loved the last firefight we had when we advanced into deadwood. You made me dig into my military training on that one.. I burned thru a few mags on that one...
Green dudes,
Palisade its always a pleasure rolling with you guys. We've been thru a lot together since I first joined your ranks under Black Talon. You guys are always so professional in what you do and how you asses situations and perform. Heck even loading our gear into the jeeps and rolling out in tight formation before the op shows the dedication you all have to this sport. Can't wait to do some more training and roll with you guys when I return stateside. Thank you for being my overwatch Moose and Mini. without you I probably would not have survived in the small village as long as I had.
The rest of you green lads, You all worked very hard and help green gets its first victory in a hot minute. My only complaint...check your targets guys..you killed me and the other multi cam guys more than tan did...
Canto, thank you for letting me roll as an engineer. It was fun doing my job for fun instead of..well you know...cause I have too.. Sorry about wrapping the entire base in detcord... they teach us to use what we have so..I did..
Timm, I enjoyed our time together on the tower goofing off, as always it was a pleasure seeing you again.
Thanks for another great day in lovely bangor.

The most impressive part of the whole day was not hearing a single person yell at someone to call their hits.
Canto - Nice work editing the event mid-way to make it a little more even when some tan left.

I would probably agree with the multicam thing, you guys definitely looked more Tan than Green in my opinion. At the end we should have had a three way showdown just for shits and giggles since there was almost as many Woodland as Multicam as Tan. Ahh well, hindsight and all that. Nice meeting you Scooter! Have a good deployment.
Guts and Glory...your post made me laugh so hard as I was one of those Tan that vaguely waved you towards the spawn point...and the one that tried to help you out by moving your rucksack. Sorry about that! Maybe you should take a class on terrain feature navigation.

I think I was too busy taking the terrain endurance class instead that day. If I went to Bangor as much as other players, I probably would have caught on, much like how I recognize parts of the old SFOD field and Chaos Paintball easily.
There was many tans waving me towards different directions. I remember someone pointing me one way and I ended up way off the beaten path, amoungst a large group of white speckled trees, a rather deep portion of the creek, and tall grass that either was high in muck or laced with thorns. Nowhere near the supposed spawnpoint.
Really, the whole "hold the city" bit was the starting point of things going downhill.
We should have just had me sit at the "FOB" (never even saw where it was) all day and mutter from my translation pamphlet.
