I am looking to jump back into airsoft. I have heard many people say that it is reccomended to replace the inner barrel of a G&G Combat Machine M4 with that of a tight bore barrel. Does anyone have any reccomendations?

I don't think doing that is completely necessary. Your much better off investing in a good battery.

The battery in the G&G CM M4 is not good?

G&Gs don't come with batteries so you'll need to pick one out. You should, however dump the stock barrel (they're pretty bad) for a higher quality tightbore, something in the 6.04 or 6.03 range. Everybody loves Prometheus barrels, and Madbulls are nice as well.

I just replaced the barrel on mine with a Madbull Black Python 6.03, and for the money I was pretty happy with it. The stock barrel isn't horrible, but for the $20ish you spend on the Madbull, I'd say go for it.

They're the worst stock barrels that I've ever seen, dump it immediately for a Madbull or Prometheus.
The Combat Machine internals are a step down from G&G's metal guns and would benefit from a good tune-up and AOE correction like any stock gun.

Change the barrel as soon as possible. The stock barrel is extremley inconsistent, and as Kaboose said it's not exactly built to last...

Haha, although I'm no 5 year old, I did this a couple of months ago and it was ridiculously easy. I commented on how CA sportline barrels were the worst I had seen and TheEnd pulled a Combat Machine inner from the garbage for me to check out. A few seconds later it was a horseshoe.
