After recently selling a few big ticket items, I have a good amount of cash saved up to blow on the next piece of my loadout. I am looking to add a helmet to my kit list. As the title tells, I am having some trouble deciding which one will meld with my current kit the best. I have narrowed it down to three main options.
1) MSA MICH 2000 w/ Ops Core Accessories 2) Crye Precision Airframe 3) Ops Core FAST Ballistic
I am currently running Crye Combats and a Crye JPC, all in Multicam. Obviously, I am going for a slick loadout that cuts down on bulk, so the helmet must follow suit with that. At this point, I am not basing my loadout off of any particular group, but I want to choose a helmet that would be the most plausible to go along with the rest of my kit.
I just want to know some pros and cons to the choices that I have listed, and which would most likely be on a JPC’d operator. I just want to stress that I am not going for a particular loadout, but I do want to be MIL realistic.
Thanks in advance to all. I hope that I can get some good opinions out of this.

Airframe is the s**t if you're after weight savings. (Given your JPC, it looks like you are) I wish I still had mine.
The FAST is nice once you replace the OpsCore pads as they tend to suck when you start putting heavier loads on your head. (NODs, CW's, stuff on the ARC rails)
Since you've got Airframe/FAST money saved up, the MICH is just gonna be a let down, IMO.

I own both an Airframe, and A Fast helmet. IMO the Airframe pads suck, but the fast pads are like A memory foam.

I agree, if you're going for weight savings a real MICH is not the way to go. I have one, it's heavy. If you're already considering either the Airframe or the FAST, go with one of those. Personally, since you're already gucci'ed to the nines with Crye, I'd just go with the Airframe if you've got the dough for it. Then you can put the cover on it and be extra tits.

From what has been said, the Airframe seems like best option for me. It was what I was leaning toward from the beginning. The Crye cover is a must, if that leads to extra titage, so be it. I just needed to consult some knowing minds before dropping such a large wad of cash.
It looks like I will be a walking Crye ad after this kit is done. Damn them for making everything look/perform so awesome.

I laughed at "titage", and you can either buy a multicam cover, or you can buy some velcro and put velcro on it.

I was thinking of doing both. I assume that the cover will still fit even if there are a few swatches of Velcro on the helmet. It doesn't look to be too tight of a fit, or am I wrong on that?

It doesn't look to be terribly loose, but it's not exactly leather pants tight either.

Velcro will fit under the cover without any problems. Here's the only pics from the one I had and you can see there's some slack under the cover. It would be MUCH cooler though if you added your own velcro to the exterior of the MC cover though.

That would be a very possible idea. I've done my fair share of needle work, so it should be pretty easy to pull off. Hell, the adhesive may be enough to bond to the cover.
How beneficial is the 'passive cooling' of the split shell. Does it just aid in letting out the trapped hot air that would build up in a normal helmet? I wouldn't imagine that there would be much air coming in.

Airframe is slightly cheaper than the OpsCore. So you should automatically get it. The "passive cooling" is a pretty good comfort measure. If you have wind coming from behind you, it'll FEEL GOOD, MAN.

If you have issues with the pads, the Team Wendy EPIC Air kit apparently works well with the Airframe.

I never wore mine in a game as I got it, then sold it. It would prolly be pretty nice to have though as kong mentioned. The split shell setup is prolly 80% design, 20% cooling, as it's really meant to dissipate blast waves to prevent soldiers' brainz from melting and oozing out their nostrils and ears.
