I am trying to do as the title implies and break away from the normal guns and try something new. I am sick of running the same old m4, ak, m14, g36, mp5 series guns.
I've been looking around but can't find anything all that special, so what are some guns that you have heard about that are out of the norm? The only one I have run across is the KA FN FAL which from my understanding is pretty far off from the real FAL. AEG's only.
Edit: Scars and p90's are fairly normal.

FNC. If you can find them. Star FNC's can take most M4 magazines, and the Star has a nice 3rd burst feature. Pagan has a freaking awesome STAR FNC that shoots like 250ft with just a pro-win hop up chamber and a TBB.
G&G also makes the FNC but it doesn't have 3 rd burst.

We can throw darts as this board for you and hope we get a bullseye that resonates with you (here's my throw: www.wgcshop.com/wgc2008/main/product_detail1.php?search_From=category&item=TM-AEG-T89S&search=special&rs=Marui%20AEGs&catid=6&cat=14), but this is the kind of thing that would really be easier if you did yourself. There are only so many AEGs out there, and it turns out that sorting through them isn't too hard if you know where to go. If you're looking for higher end, non-clone brand guns, run through the selections at the larger Hong Kong based retailers (Redwolf, WGC, UNC, and Ehobby are my go-tos). If you're more budget oriented, then check out the lower priced selections available at the bigger US retailers (AirsoftGI, AirsoftExtreme, AirsoftAtlanta, Evike, Airsplat *shudder*). There are unique options out there, and to be honest, just scrolling through the product pages of those sites is the best way to find a few that catch your rather than ours. Once you have them narrowed down, bring a list of 2-4 back and we can go over what we know about them and help you make a decision.

Knief there are discontinued guns that are very unique that I will not be able to see on those sites. Ex. maruzen tec-9. I am not just looking for a new gun I am looking for a unique gun in general, considering they are unique there shouldn't be all that many I am not asking you to pick one out for me I'm asking for the ones that are known to be out there.

Try some of the chinese/japanese guns like the Type 95 or Type 97. Or WWII guns like the Type 100 or M1 Garand. If you could find the FAD that would be awesome. Or an obscure LMG like the PKP Pecheneg.

If they're discontinued, they'll be out of stock at most or all of the big HK retailers. Some sites, like WGC, list which products are discontinued and which are just out of stock. "Unique" is a vague measurement, and only you know exactly what you mean by it. There are a number of different models out there that aren't too common, some you may find appealing and some you may not.
I left this thread open so that after you did some more research on your own, you wouldn't have to start a new one to discuss your narrowed list. But if you're going to continue to request that we just list guns, I'm going to close it down. Telling you what guns are available to buy is not the function of this community, you can find that easily enough on your own. When you've done the preliminary research, we can help you answer specific questions that you were unable to answer through your own tireless hours of research.

I'm not saying they have to be availible for retail, I'm sayin unique models that are known to be made nor am I asking for links to these guns, what I am asking is for the communities collective knowledge of these guns. Also the first post lists out what I believe to be fairly normal. Finding a gun that appeals to me is not what I am asking of you, I'm asking you to help me uncover guns that may have been short lived or overlooked or just old.
Prime example would be the post above yours, I didn't even know there was a gun called a fad or that there is a type 100.

There is always the Thompson and the UMP/UMG. I really like submachine guns chambered in .45.
