I collect camo in addition to the MILSIM addiction but I don't get much of an opportunity to go out in the full dedicated snow camo (camo meant for very snowy environments.) Here in Maryland we only get about 3 or 4 snowfalls each year and they are usually gone the next day. Yesterday we got about 2 inches and it is already gone today. At night I got some pics in the Arktis Tundra, which is a snowy environment camo, created initially for European mountain operations. It is in use by French Special Forces in Afghanistan and I am not aware of any other forces using it. Note that because it was at night the photo was taken with a long exposure, so the white on the uniform appears darker than the buttons, velcro, and surrounding snow, but it is not actually that way. The colors match the uniform color.

I would have expected French camo to be white.

Great picture and nice parka & trousers.
Are they pretty water resistant? Similar to Goretex MIL parkas?

Yes, it is lined so that it is wind and water resistant. They do make a non wind/water resistant version. I also have a combat shirt underneath, which you can't see:

I would have expected French camo to be white. Trololo. Nice looking camo, eagle. Can't imagine that it's all that practical for around here, but it sure looks cool. -Dan

Actually it looks like at a distance it would probably blend pretty well around here when there's a bit of snow out.
