I'm not quite done with my current m4 project, however, I've been thinking about my next potential project. I sort of want to start a DMR platform. I was thinking about a SCAR H SSR base from VFC. To me, it looks like a interesting platform with a lot of potential. Any thoughts? Does anyone have one out there?
Thanks,
Sean

What do you mean by "potential?" The VFC SCAR has some mediocre internals for any airsoft gun, let alone a $400 airsoft gun. If you know that you want to use a SCAR, there are reviews of both the Dboys and VFC here, and a guide to SCARs in general here. Personally, I'd stick to an M4/M16 base simply because I find them easier to take apart/put back together and they are definitely easier to find parts for.

I know the internals aren't great with VFCs. I do know that they build one of the best external bodies out there though and are the only company that sells the SSR DMR version.
I would never buy a VFC based on internals. However, I thought the platform would be kind of unique to play around with. Thanks for the links, as well.

I would look into the G&G m14, long barrel, solid internals, and sexy as hell. When you say DMR, do you want a 500fps single shot AEG, or 400fps to keep the full auto capability? Because I know making the m14 single shot only is pretty simple, I'm not sure how easy it is on the scar... And I think the scar would be little a bulky to be a DMR, I can see laying on the ground being a pain. Just my 2 cents, I'm a G&G fan boy, and even more an m14 fan boy, so I may be a little biased, but good luck on whatever platform you do choose.

I own a G&G M14 that I have been working on turning into a DMR and all I can say is that it is born for the role.
Not only is the thing accurate as hell right out of the box but the externals look and feel amazing. My only complaint with it is that it uses a proprietary design on the magwell which allows you only to use G&G and CA mags, no others will work.
PM me if you want to know more.
