I've seen several videos on Youtube about their use and I'm wondering what some of your experiences are with them and their range ( appear to me to be pretty much a master-key).

For the most part, they're pretty much for show. You're going to find limited opportunities where using one is beneficial. Most shells are like you said, pretty much a shotgun effect. There are some applications where you can shoot foam rockets or footballs out of them, but that's really only useful at games where you have vehicles. Trying to get people to call themselves out when a nerf football lands next to them works about as well as using dummy training grenades. That is, not very well.
Unless you're dead set on lugging the extra weight around for a very specific look, I'd save your money and buy something you're more likely to use like a new piece of gear, or another gun, or a sidearm.

What he said ^ The ONLY, and I mean ONLY cool thing they can possibly be used for is launching projectiles. Be if NERF footballs or those 1337 Russian shells, your not gonna have much fun with your 203 if you're just using BB's in it. I really wish I would've never bought mine now since it's just sitting in my gear room all lonely and such.

Yeah, mine just cries itself to sleep in my gear closet... or makes brief appearances on my rifle until I decide it's far too heavy to actually field.
Lots of fun to shoot off, but not very practical.

Well thanks for the feedback guys, though I'm sorry for your launchers Everyone before me has spoken nothing but truth. However, I don't mind the extra weight of an M203. I've got strong arms so I barely notice it (or at least I hide the pain). Even after a few hours of use when I used my friend's M4 w/ M203. I actually plan on making an M16A4 grenadier rifle which will be heavier. Aside from the limited uses as an M203 has, it's all about strength when lugging it around on your rifle all day. They're fun to shoot, too, especially at a cluster-fuck of n00bs!

I've heard that M203's are a good way to get rid of your shitty Walmart bbs as well.

I've heard that M203's are a good way to get rid of your shitty Walmart bbs as well. I have plenty of those, but not enough to justify the purchase of an M203 attachment. However, I do like the look of an attached M203 and when I have the money may throw a lil bit that way.
