Like Ctres said... It's better to step down in voltage rather than amps. Either that or use a weaker motor I guess; I don't see the point in using a powerful motor only to give it a bad power source. Sounds like you'd be better off with a 7.4v lipo that can put out a lot of amps or a weak motor like a G&G. Simply put, you want to supply your motor with a surplus of amps to both attain and sustain the best performance out of it. Active braking is, basically, a gimmick. It takes very little stress, if any, off of your gears and puts it onto your motor, which creates a lot of heat and wears out your brushes. I once saw it compared to driving a car- will throwing the car into reverse to stop it be better for your tires and such than coasting to a stop or using the brakes? Obviously there are many differences between automobiles and airsoft guns, but I'm sure you get the picture. This discussion seems to be going around in circles. If somebody would like to use active braking, that's their choice. I will always advise against it and would never personally use it, especially not to "fix" an overspin issue as there are much better methods available for that. Tollis's PTW motor burned out recently, and sometimes I wonder how much longer it would have lasted if they didn't force you to use active braking on those things. Edit: 1,000th post, alright!

No offense guys, but if you're still trying to help Shanker, he's had the lipos since the 30th.
