Have you guys seen these foam lined sunglasses? They're probably the best I've used for this. BTB SunglassesAnd for clothing I'd recommend this army navy store They do free shipping to the U.S. Sunglasses aren't full seal, therefore not useable.

I'm not a mod so I won't tell you want to do and what not to do, but I'm letting you know that this is against forum policy. Also, I've seen better prices for A-TACS camo and other stuff at other sites.

It's a sticky, so we're a little more relaxed on the necro rule as long as a post adds useful information. Recommending sunglasses in a thread about eye protection is a miss, though. If I was running a game, you wouldn't be allowed on the field with eye pro that didn't use a wraparound strap for retention. BTB's site does list a BTB-2500 with a strap, combined with assurance that it meets or exceeds ANSI standards. I'd be very worried about fogging, though.

What would you rate these as? www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?cPath=28_99&products_id=4952I've worn them to several backyard rec games, not a single BB has gotten through, though they do have a small opening on the bottom, but it's nowhere near big enough for a BB to pass through. I did notice the recent comments about the foam sealed glasses, I just want to know if your thoughts are any different on these.

Those are not full seal therefor you can not use them.

If they have the appropriate ballistics rating, then the lens is ok. The only thing that you are lacking, at that point, is a strap that connects to them and then goes around the back of your head. This will ensure that they don't lift off your face and allow bb's to pass through. Wiley-x glasses are similar, and allowed. Both X and I have worn them at No-Limits, and SFOD, with no contest to their validity.

If I attached one of the straps that connects the backs of the glasses, where it wraps around your ear, would that work?

I would imagine it would be a judgment call by the hosts of the game/field owners, as to whether it was adequate.
You would still need to show proof if ansi rating as well. Unless they already are familiar with the glasses and are known to be good. I myself know nothing about them, and that link does not mention ansi rating.

If they aren't full seal they can't be used, period.

If those glasses are like the wiley-x ones, then the foam does fully seal to the face, with the strap mounted on it. Since I know nothing of these, except for the limited information on that link, I certainly couldn't say that they are like the wiley-x glasses.

I cringe every time I see someone trying to play with sunglasses or with some kind of cheapo goggles they snagged from walmart. Frankly guys, we spend a lot of money on nice gear, nice boots, nice vests and guns. Invest in good, rock solid goggles.
When it comes down to it- what is your eyesight worth to you?:

I'm sure that wasn't directed to me, but just thought I would add that wiley-x glasses are not the cheap way out, and cost WAY more than my Bolle-x800's. They also offer just as much protection, otherwise I would not wear them. Although, they do fog up a lot easier, which is why I have the x800.

Sorry, post Op exhaustion- I didnt convey that very well, I apologize. No tank, that was in no way directed at you. I was noting the Bobster shades link above among other things I've seen in my time as an airsofter. Wiley X is good stuff, but the off brand $5 goggles at Walmart I've seen some kids use frighten the bajeebus out of me (I meant literally the walmart cheapo's ) I heard from one of my teammates that some guy was rocking some kind of foam lined tactical shades today and my inner safety harpy shuddered. A large portion of my team these days are new to the sport, just starting out and looking for good goggles, good guns, gear, etc and that last bit is the advice I give them. Personally, I'm a Revision kind of guy as is the rest of my crew (although their Exoshields are garbage- the foam liner falls out easily, fogs incessantly, impossible to keep the lense clean and clear), they've worked best for me and meet both the ANSI and Mil standards.

After todays OP I think I'm going to pick up some Turbo-Fans. I'm sick of freaking fog. I used to have this amazing thermal lens for my ESS goggles, but it, along with another pair of goggles and a Gas pressure gauge, got stolen at a game in Virginia. Now, ESS apparently doesn't sell the thermal lenses anymore. They were dual-pane and filled with argon or some nonsense. Never fogged, ever.

Alright, well, I can tell you Bobster isn't a cheap brand, the shades are some of the cheapest products on their line. I need something very small, basically the same size as those glasses, for eye protection, as my ESS NVG goggles look horrible on a shemagh.
