So I am looking into purchasing a helmet. I have narrowed down my choices to, MICH 2000, MICH 2001, or an IBH. My question is, is there a certain advantage to one over the other? What curent military groups use which one? What do you guys choose and why?

MICH 2000- Nearly everyone at some point or another. (Marsoc, SEALS, SF, etc.)
MICH 2001- Little Narrower in use. (95% SEALS)
IBH- Anyone with the downs.
Go 2001. Most comfortable w/comms by far.

IBH- Anyone with the downs. Hey man, that hurts... But it's true, except I don't have it. But cqbr is right. MICH 2000 is the most common. Personally, I like the Gentex LWH or PASGT. They're basically the same except for some minor specs. I like USMC Grunts and that's mainly what they use. Planning on getting a replica PASGT for my USMC Grunt impression and ditching my IBH. Personally, I don't like my IBH helmet. The straps are somewhat short (not much variation when sizing), and there's no ear protection. But I think it looks good with a nice paint job, Ops-Core rails, an MS-2000, and velcro.

Not to drive this thread off topic, but... Carnage, If you're going to go the replica PASGT route, you might as well purchase a replica LWH from Royal Tiger ( www.royaltigergear.com/product_info.php?products_id=1046). Granted, the Royal Tiger version is the older style LWH. A lot of the replica PASGT don't allow you to replace the PASGT style suspension with the LWH style, so it's just easier to buy the replica LWH right off the bat. You could, on the other hand, buy a real PASGT, real suspension, skydex pads, cover, rhino mount, etc (which is what I did) but it does get pricy. That said, CQBr's advice is pretty good. The MICH 2000 (ACH/ECH) is used by a lot of folks. Both the Army and USMC will be fielding the ECH relatively soon, I'd imagine, given that it is being used by some troops already.

I am leaning heavily towards the 2001. Any recommendations on replicas? Real steel are way to expensive.

That's why I recommend the MICH 2000 helmets as they can be purchased online through EBay fairly cheap used. The MICH 2001 helmets you're going to pay a lot more money for as they're not as common used.
