Well... lets just say I painted my M16 OD green once and I ended up stripping it down and painting it tan because OD green looks bad on pretty much any gun by itself. I think that SCAR's of any type should only be tan and the same for Masadas/ACR.
Like I said before the most recent pictures I've posted make the colors look extremely bright due to lack of natural lighting and flash. Just wait until tomorrow to see what it really looks like, it's a lot darker than you guys think and the OD doesn't look nearly as vibrant.
And Trust, I also wasn't aware that OD green was considered a neon color?
No, I think Myers realized that his OD monstrosity was an OD monstrosity and is working to fix it. We also generally thought that his worn look was pretty decent (I might have gone about it a little differently, but his way still worked). Overall, I would say that we think he has taste and has also made a mistake with the OD. It happens to the best of us. I once wore white after labor day.
We've seen some non-tan paintjobs in the past here that have been very good. Munin did an absolutely phenomenal multicam paintjob on Jacko's M24 when MC first came out. Somebody else did a pretty sweet urban digital job on an mp5K that looked great. And at some point, somebody even did an OD based paintjob in an M4 that had everybody painting their M4s to match (I think it might have been BigC, and he did the accessory bits while leaving the receiver, barrel, buffer tube, etc black). And let's not forget about ARC's numerous A-TACS paintjobs that have pretty much blown us way. They, and many other non-tan paintjobs have looked very good. It just so happens that this particular paintjob is hideous and, as far as we can tell, the black splotching is only making it worse.
Were it me, I'd do my damnedest to strip every bit of green off of the gun and cover it in something else to conceal any remnants. But that's just me.
