Hi. My name is Daren. I'm 27 and local to SE/ME michigan.
I am new to airsoft.
I understand the basics of war-gaming (honor system, minimum distance, dead player etiquette.) as I've been playing paintball for over ten years on and off. I am also familiar with safe firearm handling practices.
Real steel firearms training is what brought me to airsoft. I'm looking for a way to run force-on-force drills as well as a fun alternative/compliment to paintball.
Between firearms and paintball I have a substantial pile of tacti-crap laying around so I figured I might as well put it to use.
A local friend referred me here for info.

Welcome to the boards, mcintosh. It's always great to have new guys joining the community, especially with some background in similar hobbies. If you need any help getting going, don't hesitate to ask. We've got about 10 years worth of great information archived here as well, so there's a good chance that if you do some digging, you'll be able to find everything you ever wanted to know and a fuck ton more that you didn't.

Cool. Thanks for the warm welcome guys.
Warren is close for me and I look forward to playing at Eastside when they open their new field. (I'll be busy the weekend of their final game at the old one.)
I just picked up a SOCOM GEAR Noveske 14.5" carbine, and I'm in the process of lurking the forums for info on the accoutrements. I hope to have everything assembled in time for Operation Firestorm in October.
