Hey guys I've been planning to get some of this stuff but before I do I was wondering if it sounds like a decent loadout. Just wanted to make sure there's no junk I'm buying. I'm looking at one of those black ABS helmets, a tactical one point bungee sling, a crossdraw vest that holds 3 rifle and pistol mags, has a radio pouch and a utility belt. I know some people like the plate carriers and MOLLE vests and the customization abilities they have with them but the vest says its compatible with all that stuff, it says its completely modular. For the gun I'm looking at the G&G Combat Machines M4, the nonblowback. It looks like a decent gun and I've heard good things about G&G. I want some extra mags, like 3 midcaps. Then I need a sidearm, some extra mags with that would be good too. I had one in mind but its got crazy fps. I actually wanted to be able to play places. So thats basically what I've been looking at. I hope I covered most of the stuff that i'll need, if theres more or less or different stuff that I'll, let me know. I just wanted to make sure that it sounded at least decent by you guys. Thanks.

Skip the sidearm, there are a lot more things you can get that will benefit you more than a sidearm. Get an extra battery for your AEG and more mags.
Are you going to be playing CQB or field play?

I'm planning on both field and CQB. And thats a good point. If you have more mags and endless battery life then you never have to pull a sidearm.

Links would help us determine not only if the type of gear you're looking at is good, but also if the specific things you're looking to pick up are decent as well. Regarding the vest, you still don't want what you're looking at, and for two main reasons. First, I know you think that because it's modular, you won't fall into the limits of a true crossdraw vest. But from the sound of it, you're still planning on running the holster on your weak side chest and three mag pouches on your strong side chest. This is an awful set up, and the vest won't allow you to configure the holster in any other more useful way. The biggest problem is it moves your primary mags, which is the most important thing you'll need to reach all day, away from the easiest location to grab them. Instead, a crossdraw puts the far less useful pistol in that space and locates your mags in one of the hardest places to reach, under your strong side arm. This is completely backwards. Not only will you have to reach across your body and under your gun to reload your primary, but you'll also have to reach across your body and over your gun to draw your sidearm. This makes both actions slower for you. The second problem with the modular crossdraw style vest (technically they're not crossdraws if you don't have the holster on your weak side chest) is the fastening up the center. Whether it's a zipper or a set of buckles, they take up a lot of room, and they take up that right in a very inconvenient location. You'll want to keep stuff dead center on your chest, but the style of vest you're looking at won't let you. That's just far too limiting for your pouch configuration options. Look at a plate carrier or a chest rig and a separate holster (belt mounted, drop leg, or even one you can slap on your PC where you want it) and you'll be a lot happier in the long run. I point out a few budget options in this thread: miairsoft.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=gear&action=display&thread=40209In this thread, I link to some more expensive options: miairsoft.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=gear&action=display&thread=40048And an analysis of color, with pictures: miairsoft.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=gear&action=display&thread=40124For the rest of your loadout, a G&G CM is a great starter gun, so you're set there. Three midcaps is probably a little low. I'd aim for 6 at least, and at that point, you might as well get a box of 8. Everybody else on the field will have 6-8 mags. You will want a sling, but there are a ton of options so we need to know what you're looking at. Helmets add a nice look, but again, it depends on what you're looking at. Then for a pistol, there are so many options that we need some direction to take you in. Do you have any models that you prefer? What's your budget? What kind of performance are you looking for? Do you like larger or smaller pistols? Do you want something that's easy to find a holster for? Do you want full auto? Do you want something used by our military in some form or another or something a little less mainstream? Do you care about mag capacity? Do you want something to use Propane on, or HFC 134a? There are so many options with so many different qualities that there's no way to point you in one direction or another. We need a lot more input from you to narrow that down.

Okay, so I'm definitely including links in this post. Sorry bout that. I figure I'll switch to the MOLLE because what you said definitely makes sense, having to reach all over the place to get a mag doesnt sound good. I'm also going to drop the sidearm, for now. With a nicer vest a sidearm won't fit the budget. I also figured I'd get the box of 8 mags like you said. For the sling I'm looking at a one point bungee but its in the links below. The helmet is basically for looks. It will be cool though, I hope. www.airsplat.com/viewcart.asp Thats the link to a cart with some of the stuff from Airsplat that I'm looking at. Its got the helmet, sling, gun, battery, and charger. Next link. www.airsoftgi.com/shopping_cart.php This one has the MOLLE PC, the mags, and a dump pouch to attach to the PC. Then a head wrap for looks. I think I'm looking at mostly tan and brown stuff, so will little bits of black look ok in there too? like a black helmet and goggles with base tan colors, vest and shirt and balcalava / head wrap thingy and mesh half mask? I hope those links work.

We can't see your shopping carts, so maybe taking screenshots and posting them here can help, or just link us to everything.

Links to everything would be best.
Black goggles are pretty standard, but a black helmet wouldn't look so great. You're really going to want to go tan as much as possible. But you can always paint a helmet, so if black is all you can find, it's no big deal. We can talk about the rest when you've got links to work from.

Order the Combat Machine from ASGI, they have good coupon codes and they are just a better retailer in general. Personally, I would stick to a 9.6v nunchuck for the Combat Machine as well, and I would ditch maybe the sling and head wrap so I can afford an extra battery.
The PC you picked is good as it has built in mag pouches, so you won't need to buy pouches right away.

Keep the sling, you'll want that for sure. But yeah, I would just stick with a 9.6v NiMh battery. A lipo is overkill on a gun like that, and all you're going to do is chew through pistons. You should be able to fit a 2000 mAh nunchuck pack in your foregrip. I can send you a link to the battery you want tomorrow.
I would also just buy the gun in black and paint it tan if you want it tan. Those tan plastic receivers alway look like ass. But when you paint a gun, you can make it look as good as your skill allows.
I would also get rid of that awful looking head wrap and get a shemagh. It's a much better looking option for face protection.

Yeah thats the main reason I picked that PC. That way I wouldn't have to throw in another $50 in pouches. I'm still not sure about where to order them from, those were just the websites that I knew had them, I'll check out the coupons for sure though, anything to save some $$ is a definite awesome. Thanks for the advice. Especailly about the battery. I'm not sure if the gun is even LiPo ready. But if a 9.6 would work then I'd stick with that so I can save a few bucks here and there. A 9.6 will power the gun basically the same right? I know you get a bit higher ROF and trigger response with LiPo but it also wears the gun down quicker. I think I'm right. But battery reccomendations are good too, I don't know too much about the batteries.

Shoot. I didn't see your post Knief until after I modified my first one. And i'm planning on keeping the sling for sure. So I guess a 9.6 battery it is. Sounds good save a few bucks and extend the gun's life. So I think I've pretty much got my Christmas list down hahaha. Painting the gun sounds good too, I could do any camo or color that way. And the face wrap was just an idea, If i've got a mesh half mask and a nice pair of goggles why do I need the face wrap, so thats gone too. Thanks for the help guys.

I use a similar PC. I have the same one, I believe. It really helps because you don't have to have specialized mag pouches for different types of mags. Anything and everything will fit in it.
Also, I'd just skip the Helmet. Waste of money really, unless you are concerned about getting head shots or want an NV mount or Helmet Cam. They do look cool, though.
You only really need the gun, mags, battery, and PC. You can effectively play with just those four items.
