Well, I was tired of wanting an ops-core ballistic. So I added some rails, velco and paint to my CVC. Now I'm satisfied.

Still needing: MSA rails, goggle straps, NODs, bungees, and a VAS shroud to replace the Norotos Universal, which I'm not too fond of. And yes, those are Scottish flag patches. Because Scotland is awesome.

I have Foliage Revision Desert Locust goggles to go with this, and I have the Ops Core Wing Loc and Goggle Clips coming from Ops Core to mount them as well as a clone SureFire helmet light. I will repost once those get here and installed!

It is home made for now, looking for someone who can do one. I saw that Ranger Joes makes them, just haven't gone around to getting one done. Just wanted to see how it all looked together

Only thing that raised a flag was the adhesive velcro border that is pieced together. If you swap that out for some sewn on stuff, it'd look pretty nice. What did you use for the actual call-sign portion? I have several of the Ranger Joes call-sign patches, and I wouldn't recommend them due to their huge size, thickness, and small numbers in relation to the size of the patch. Several of the 561 guys bought the AWS callsign patches that are definitely a whole lot nicer. I'll snap a pic of the RJ and AWS ones in a sec for you. Here ya' go: As you can see, the RJ ones are nearly twice as thick. It doesn't seem so bad when they're on the ground like this, but the way the velcro is sewn on makes the corners come off on anything that brushes against them. The AWS is reversible so one patch has both Tan and Black velcro, as well as glow in the dark and Infrared call-sign on them. Whereas the RJ only comes in Black with just the glow in the dark call-sign. (I made the tan version myself)

My sling would often get caught on the corners of the RJ's call-sign patch when I was at PPIV, so I can attest to their hugeness.
I wound up just putting it on the back of my ACH for the duration of the game.

I appreciate the info, like I said before, this was just kinda a first run place holder. I am definitely looking at the AWS ones now. www.awsin.com/proddetail.asp?prod=52780 does this unit come with the velcro around the edges? Can't really tell from the small photos.... Again, thanks!

My sling would often get caught on the corners of the RJ's call-sign patch when I was at PPIV, so I can attest to their hugeness. .I have nothing else to say...Same here. Only it would end up sticking to the velcro on the insides of my 6094 every time I took it off. kilo- It shows that NOT being reversible on the site so I would believe it only has the hook backing and a smooth front. The only reason they have velcro on the front is if they're reversible. So if it doesn't say that in the product specs, then assume it's one sided. Definitely go with the AWS. You won't be disappointed you did.

Last update for the helmet project.... I received my Surefire replica from Airsoft Park today in the mail. The reason for ordering a replica was because I could not find a genuine Surefire light in green for a reasonable price. So I order this one... well it isn't very green is it

And cqbr, I ordered a callsign patch from AWS Good man! The reason you didn't find a light in green is they don't exist in that color. Tan or Black only. (Unless something new came out I didn't see yet) Pic thread... Did a lanyard mod and re-stitched the velcro on the cover.

kilo, how did you mount the HL1 to the ARC rail? I have been looking for a while now and couldn't find a way to do it.
