Wow! Sweet Masada! Nice lookin'. Jk. Helmet looks good. I would personally put some IFF lights on it. Are you gonna mount GPVNG-18s on that? Gotta do it, man.

Trying to get rid of that Emerson shine and approximate Urban Tan. From the original: To this: What it's actually supposed to look like: I need a color with some more grey on the shell and I'm going to have to paint the rails and shroud. Getting closer, though.

Save yourself the headache (No one I've seen has properly replicated the color to date) and just get the hardware from OpsCore. It's dirt cheap now that you can buy everything as a FAST replacement part instead of custom order.

What brand and color did you use?

It's Rustoleum khaki. I also have a can of Rustoleum fossil that I didn't break out. It's a bit lighter, but also a bit more yellow.
JD,
I see ACH rails on their site. Where am I missing FAST Ballistic rails?

Where am I missing FAST Ballistic rails? I wish I could remember which company I bought from years ago, I thought it was PPG or House of Kolor, but I just don't recall. In any case, if you have a spray gun and could borrow someone's real ballistic helmet, you could go to an automotive paint supply store (there's many in the area) and have them match the paint. They do many finishes, and the finish is all dependent on the clear coat you apply. We use to do this for our R/C helicopter canopies and plane Cowlings. The paint is extremely durable if you follow the appropriate prep.

My current lid, and formerly CJA's MICH 2001. I must say, it fits perfectly, and much better than the AirFrame ever did.

Thank you for the link, Beta. Definitely going to grab a set of rails. Here's take 2: This is two coats of Rustoleum Fossil, two coats of Rustoleum matte clear coat, and some work with 600 grit sand paper.
