Hello there~ I have recently purchased a new G&G CM16 Raider! However, I have two questions about it. My first question is, what battery would be recommended? I've been trying to research around, but I have not found something that explicitly, in your face says: "Hey you, the guy with the rookie eyes over there! Toss this in your gun and get the best performance." I'm not sure what I should get that would last or actually FIT in my crane stock. And my second question is, what is this cut-out in the flash-hider? I've seen that it is actually supposed to be there, but I don't know the point. If anybody could solve the mystery, that would be greatly appreciated~ I apologize profusely for the lame pictures. My camera has been quite finicky lately. Also another apology if I just forgot to google with a certain letter or some other noob-move like that.

Thanks for the short and sweet reply, sir! Another question about the battery, how long do you think it would last? Would I need to buy a second for a full day's match?

Its always good to have a spare battery! But most likely, the 1400 mah would last you most of the day on a full charge. My guess would be about 4-5 hours of moderate/light shooting. If you blast a lot on full auto, you might just opt for the spare just to be sure.

I generally think of Tenergy as being second rate, but that might be bias more than anything. I use Elite batteries, and in fact have the exact one that I linked you to. They've been very good for a long time for me, and thwy're pretty much what I'm sticking to for my NiMh needs for the foreseeable future.

Actually, one of the extreamly rare times I'd correct you but the cutout is actually to direct gas flow from the bullet and increase spin and therfore accuracy. Only on the real M4 though of course. -Dan

It wasn't a double post when I made it. Iron fin deleted his post in between my two, as he noted in his following post. Please leave the moderating to the moderators.

If you are looking to carry two batteries, consider a buffer tube LiPo. They are smaller batteries and you can fit two into your crane stock. www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?cPath=27_236&products_id=5220www.amazon.com/King-Arms-11-1v-Lithium-Battery/dp/B0037N3GDUThe price is a little up there but you get a charger included. I have also noticed that LiPo's slightly increase rate of fire as well and increased trigger response. This is great in the short term, but down the road you run the risk of stripping a piston and other minor problems. These are fixable and well worth the higher rate of fire and more speedy trigger response. This is just another type of battery that works. To each his own.

That lipo will not fit without some sanding Zulu. I have a Madbul battery just like that one and have to use a rubberband on the out side of the crane stock to carry it.
