Why do you think you can't use a single point with a vest? Anyway, I don't like that IAS. I love convertible slings, but the use of MASH hooks for the front would make it slower than I like to convert, and the fact that you can't use it with both points slung makes it pretty weak compared to the MS2. The IAS might be cheaper if you already have the QD sling mounts, but if you'd need to buy them to complete the kit, the price ends up almost the same.
Personally I made my existing Vickers 2-pt slings into convertibles with some webbing, O-rings, and snap shackles, because I like snap shackles a lot and nobody seems to make a sling with them in front. With the convertible concept in place, I reverse the normal Vickers setup. I normally have it worn long, where it works for strong-side shooting in 2pt mode or total freedom of motion in 1pt mode. If I grab the adjustment tab and close it up in 2pt mode, it pulls the gun in very close, which I like for long walks to and from the parking lot or dead zone.
