Just for clarification, is this post advertising a sale or a game?

All right. Please add the appropriate REC/SCEN/MILSIM tag at the front of the thread title, as specified here: miairsoft.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=events&action=display&thread=24640And then you'll probably want to add a few things to your post. Most importantly, price. How much does it cost to play. Then what scenario or game types will you be running? Are walk-ons welcome or do you have to sign up? Is there an age restriction? Do you have to sign a waiver, and can it be printed and singed before hand for minors who will not be accompanied by a parent. Do minors have to be accompanied by a parent? Are there any magazine or camo restrictions? Is there anything special that players should bring or expect? Do you have food or vending machines on site? Basically, if you're going to attract people, you need to include a lot more information. Check out these threads for a good idea of how to make an event post: miairsoft.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=events&action=display&thread=38146miairsoft.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=events&action=display&thread=38327miairsoft.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=events&action=display&thread=37759I know you're new to this community, and trying to crack into the airsoft market, so I hope you haven't taken the above advice as criticism. Airsoft in Michigan is relatively small, and most of us know each other, maybe with one or two degrees of separation. When you're trying to break into such a small, tightly knit community as a new event host with a new field, you'll always have to go a little farther to fit into that community. It's not like a larger market (say, opening a pool or a bowling alley) where there are so many people looking to take part in the activity you're offering that as long as they know you exist and your product is decent, they'll come to your business because it's closer or cheaper than the next guy's. In airsoft, people like to go play games run by people who they know because they know they run good games. So as a new event host, you have two options to get your foot in the door. The first is, just post a bunch here and make yourself known. Let us know that the guy running the show is an airsoft enthusiast, and knows how to put on a game that'll be fun for the players and not just a way of putting 30 guys' entry fees in his pocket. The second way is to affiliate yourself with a long standing team with a good reputation in the area and let them run games for you. If I don't know you, I'll wait until you've run some games and people have reported on how good they are before I'll bother coming out to play. It's just not worth the money and the drive from Ann Arbor when there are almost always games in the area going on that I know are fun. But if I know a bunch of guys on Team X that run quality games, and Team X is hosting at your facility, I'm far more likely to show up at the opening event because in my eyes it has more potential to be worth the time and money. Taking either of the above approaches in addition to more fully formed event posts will get you more customers more quickly. Everybody here is interesting in getting more airsoft fields up and running. But for the hosts of those fields, that means doing some catering to the community before the community shows them the positive feedback they're looking for. If you want to talk more about it or if you have any questions, feel free to send me a PM any time. I'd be glad to help you out any way I can.
