I just moved to Ann Arbor, MI last year for work and had been active in the MD/VA airsoft "scene" since 2006. Unfortunately, I sold all my gear before moving to have extra cash. Just discovered this community this past week and I'm AMAZED at how active it is. I figured it was high-time I get myself back in gear and pick up my old hobby, especially now that it's not snowing.
A bit about me: Name is Bill, 26 years old
Came from a Military/Police family and was a contractor in Afghanistan from 2008-2009 doing Asset/Personnel Protection. Now I'm a lowly Network Engineer/IT nerd. Not as exciting, but it pays the bills I suppose.
Really looking forward to getting some new gear and getting to know everyone. Should be picking up a D-Boy Full-Metal SCAR this week or next to get started. Nice to meet you all.

Thanks for the welcome Montag, and the compliment, Ghast. I'd like to think I do. Really good to know there is someone local (Ypsi). Considering any upcoming events? I'm hoping to get my feet wet again here in the next coming weeks.

You may want to check out the "Fueling the Fire" event scheduled for the end of this month. We currently have over 200 players signed up, and a good time should be had by all. If you go to the events section of this forum you should see that and many other topics outlining upcoming events.
Oh, and welcome to MiA. Hope you enjoy yourself here.

Do you guys have any local meets in the Ann Arbor/Ypsi area? It would be nice to put some names to faces and make some new friends.

There's no real "fields" to play at in A2. My team is based in Plymouth/Canton about 20 to 30 minutes away. No Limits is going to be the 23rd in Taylor. It certainly seems like most of the southern MI players are going to be there.

I was really hoping to be there but won't be in town next weekend. I'll have to catch the next one. I was hoping to get to meet a few guys before events so I didn't end up being that guy that shows up who knows no one, haha.

Come out to No Limits on the 23rd if you'd just like to get to know a ton of folks. We're going to have a great turn out.

^ What he said.
Even if you don't have any guns or gear yet, it would be a good game for you to see and meet a bunch of people. You don't have to pay if you're not playing. Just make sure you have eye protection if you want to step out on the field.

Unfortunately I'll be in Baltimore, visiting family next weekend. I'll have my gun and gear by the time the next event rolls around though. Looking forward to it.

Guys, he just said he can't go. Oops. That's what I get for just reading the first and the latest post. Welcome nonetheless. I'm sure we'll see you out there soon enough.
