So, after reading the stickies, and doing some research, I've come to the conclusion that to get into the sport of airsoft, a set of woodland cammies and a set of desert/sand colored cammies would suffice? I was planning on buying a coyote/tan vest with this, any recommendations on that?

Go for it, absolutely. Coyote Brown goes good with Woodland, ACU, DCU, MARPAT, Multicam, ATACS, anything. Olive Drab/Ranger Green don't mesh as well with so many things. In fact, wearing a darker color with a Coyote Brown plate carrier will help break up your silhouette very well. Vise-versa will make you stick out in most natural environments. Don't even think about it, always buy Coyote Brown. You don't even need to wait for other opinions, because everyone will agree with me.

Thank you for the quick reply, and the opinion, it's all very confusing at first, and with the prices of gear, it could be a costly mistake to realize you don't quite like the color you bought anymore.

Of course. Don't be the n00b that buys all black gear, then realizes it doesn't blend in unless you're in a coal mine. Coyote brown blends well because it's such a neutral color. Black doesn't, plain and simple. Either way, now it's up to you to decide what style of PC you want. Any ideas?

Honestly? Not in the slightest... So far all my research has been an what color, not what type of PC. Something that's a nice blend of mobility and bulkiness, I want to be able to move at a decent speed, but be able to attach a good number of pouches for those long skirmishes.

I would suggest an RRV, or a MAV, or a Wasatch, or an MBSS. If you're built like me (extremely tall/skinny) it's hard to find gear that fits right. All of the things I listed are mobile, spacious, and very adjustable. I'm actually trading my Wasatch for an RRV tomorrow. I've had an MBSS as well. If you want something on your back, try a Flyye MBSS. It has enough room up front, then a little on back for a MBITR and a hydro. Then if you ever decide you want more real-estate, you can buy a cumberbund.

To reinforce what Fugazi said, go with Coyote Brown (I have Marpat camo and black vest not a very good color combo) and I was looking at this: Flyye Force Recon vest (basically a CIRAS)Retail price is about $180, it's an all MOLLE vest, made out of 1000D Nylon Cordura, and comes with a bunch of pouches (that's why it's $180) www.flyyeindustries.com/ArticleShow.asp?ProdId=0298

Wow, thank you both of guys for your help, that Flyye vest Carnage posted is perfect, but a little too expensive, something to work and save up for, unless buying a vest and the pouches is just going to run me the same or more cash anyways. One last question... normal woodland/3-color desert cammies or MARPAT woodland/desert cammies?

That's really personal preference. What era are you going for? For example, I'm doing a 90's desert storm loadout, and just use 3-color desert with CB gear (I need woodland for the loadout, but God it's ugly). If you're doing something a bit more modern, go with MARPAT.

Thanks, with that info I'll probably pick up some MARPAT, personally I think it looks a little cooler too. Thanks again Fugazi and Carnage for helping me with this.

Man, it seems like Flyye is a little hard to put hands on in the US. It seems like you might find a Flyye PC or two on a supplier's site, but most Flyye products are only on the Flyye website where everything is listed as preorder, and doesn't even give you a price range... Why are all of these products on preorder? It's kind of confusing, and it doesn't seem like it would equal good business.

Flyye is a company based in Asia (Hong Kong I think). That's why there stuff is on preorder if that makes any sense. The only other good companies (that are reasonably priced) are Condor Outdoor and Pantac from what I've seen on Airsoft GI.

You can have just about any brand for a first vest/rig/PC, it doesn't need to be a Flyye. Ultimately though, you may find yourself wanting a bit more quality, so I suggested that brand.
