I happen to have found myself in a pickle. I have found myself having a strong fetish for messenger bags. Most of the time I use one to carry my laptop in school, yet more and more I find myself wanting and actually wearing my bag in public. I currently have a few, on the top of my head I have my laptob bag, a Foxhound one I got at Ohayocon, and about two others.
Now, my question for you guys is weather or not to use them in airsoft. I have currently come up with a few pros / cons
Pros: looks cool* Lots o' space Convenient Low cost** Use outside of Airsoft
Cons: Lots o' space... to have things jump around and stuff Easy to get things lost if not organized well Sometimes expensive** Made to be loose around your body
*: If done right and is practical **: Lower end, less 'tactical' bags can be cheap, but better quality, more organized may be more expensive... at least of what I have found.
Any way, thanks for the input, I hope to see you on the field with or with out a bag in the future!
And I had not done this ever and it must be done...
a lot of bags

I'd say go look more at grab bags/active shooter/go bags. A lot of those are designed specifically for people like police to respond to an active shooter situation with a long rifle quickly. Seems close to what you were describing as your need.

I love my go bag. Check out airsoftsmith for tacticool go bag goodness that doesn't look like you took out your iPad and threw in some mags.

bag goodness that doesn't look like you took out your iPad and threw in some mags. iknowthatfeel.jpg I think I did that a game earlier, and though it was pretty convinent, I did look ridiculous with a black laptop bag. Lucky for me I got this pantac bag yesterday in the mail, and dear god, it is awsome! I am using it to carry my school stuff and it is the perfect size for everything I need! Can't wait till this weekend to use it in a game! Also, that Jack Baur bag... My main beef is, at least from the photos I saw, the inside. I can't see if it has any the pockets, which I am looking for in my messenger bags for organization. But that is just me. Thanks for the feed back guys!

Blue Force Gear makes an insert that adds soft-side velcro to the inside of any messenger bag. Then you accessorize it with their "Dapper" pouches, and presto, you've got something that goes from book bag to airsoft go bag in about 30 seconds.

I believe medics would even use Messenger bags to put Medical supplies in. I don't know if they do that in the Modern era, but I know they did that a lot in the past.

Can't say I've seen any combat medics using a sling bag. Usually its a TSSI M9 bag, MR rat pack, or Blackhawk STOMPII. Messenger bags or sling bags move around to much and don't carry weight well.

Yeah, the only Med kits we had that were anything like that were the kits we kept in the MATVs, because the WALKs are just too damn bulky unless you need the litter.

Hazard 4 MOD Bag. I did a ton of research on what the best tactical messenger bag was for me, and this was it. I've been EDC'ing it for about 4 months or so now. Its extremely nice and worth every penny, and more. Note: ITS ACTUALLY COYOTE BROWN, NOT THE CRAP COLOR IN THESE PICTURES. Also, it has tan buckles and tan hardware. Their pictures show a prototype. www.hazard4.com/products_mod.htmlThis is what it really looks like: Some of the features that stand out to me on a daily basis: - Locking buckles - Dual-zipper for main compartment - Removable top - Waterproof zippers for separate padded laptop compartment which holds up to a 17" laptop I believe. - Rubber-black coating on bottom really helps for cleaning and for resistance to sliding - I don't use this feature but it was designed to break up the outer-pattern so you can concealed carry a pistol (might be useful for airsoft?)

IMHO messenger bags should only be used by lazy college students and emo girls.
The messenger bag is the new fanny pack. Wear this to a game at your own risk.

I use a messenger bag for college. I am only part-time there, so I'm only there two days a week. A messenger bag is a lot better to use for me than a backpack. I don't need a lot of pockets.
